At my age I'm happy to sit, but I grew up with standing only, and I know what an enhanced experience that is.

Therefore, I'm happy to vote for safe standing ... as long as I can sit on your shoulders, obviously. <ok>

Signed, would love to have a good section in the lower barclay where everyone stands for the majority of the match anyway. There really is no good reason to reject it, it will be safer than standing with seats with low backs or worse on seats

    Bah!

From today's BBC Sport pages - Fans can 'create powerful voice that should be heard'
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43915570

    The main points -
The survey, which opens at 9 am today will close on 10 May, asks the following questions:

      • Do you believe all professional football clubs should be able to offer supporters a choice of licensed standing or seated accommodation at their matches should they wish to?
      • Given the choice, would you prefer to sit or stand to watch matches?
      • If all clubs were able to offer licensed standing accommodation, would it make you more or less likely to attend games?
      • Sports minister Tracey Crouch, who said there were no plans to change present legislation, which requires clubs in England's top two divisions to have all-seater stadiums. and only a 'vocal minority' wanted standing areas, something the FSF disputes #wakeupandsmellthecoffee

    Signed.

Times have changed, stadiums have changed. I don't know if it would be safe at all grounds, maybe there should be regulations around it. But for the bulk of the league teams, there should be the offer.

In terms of Carrow Road, I wouldn't just want "lower Barclay to be standing" I think you need 2 sections, opposite ends of the ground. All the noise is from the snake pitt and the Barclay. The rest of the stadium is dead. Make the opposite corner to the snake pitt another area. Where people who want to be in the snake pit and stand can't get a seat/stand ticket. New young fans who want a chant have a chance to create an area that will create noise up that end. The stadium noise is too 1 sided.

I can see what you're saying, but we have precious few enough willing and sustained singers as is, to dilute them to different parts of the ground, I think might actually make it worse. Of course it might help, if that pocket in the Riverend/family enclosure proved infectious to there surrounding fans. I think further atmospheric death is more likely though.
In the end though, any standing won't help nearly as much as some good entertaining home form.

    Bah!

I didn't say split up who's already filling those areas. I'm saying give an opportunity to young fans who can't get a ticket to be a part of those areas, give them a new area. Sell it as a 2nd snake pit. For the loan voices trying to make an atmosphere to no avail in the other library stands.
