It's hard to see how any permanent manager could be appointed while the take-over is going on. If the take-over is going on.
Bowyer has already done enough to warrant a 3 year contract as manager IMO. The improvement he has wrought out of the same group of players that Robinson had lost is massive. The blips against Scunthorpe & Bristol Rovers were because many of these players are not that good. Hard work and closing down isn’t rocket science but Bowyer has demanded it. It’s hard to see an upgrade on Lee Bowyer whoever the owner is.
Bowyer proves today he could be a great manager. no room for sentiment when a win was essential today so Jacko stays on the bench. Hoping he'll get a chance in the play offs
Who would have predicted two months ago that the Valley would be rocking the way it was today? It's a terrific achievement by a rookie manager to turn the club and the team round the way he has.
Irrespective of who the owner is in August, or what league we are in, it will be a massive, unforgivable mistake not to give Lee Bowyer a three year contract, and let him build a side. The transformation of these same players speaks volumes not only for what a fraud Gobbo was, but also the Curbs-like understated way that Bowyer has gone about his business. Once again at full time yesterday, a handshake for the ref and straight down the tunnel. Gobbo would have been ripping his shirt off and blowing kisses into the Covered End. The emotional detritus you got every week with Gobbo cannot have been good for the players and has thankfully ended. The fact is that if we don't keep Bowyer we are not going to get anyone better - unless you are talking serious money. Harry Kewell and Nathan Jones etc are not an upgrade on "Bow".
My dream team for next season... Curbs .... Director of Football/Mentor Bow .... Manager Skipper .... Assistant Manager
