Penhill vulnerable at Punchestown (sse last year) and I thought Identity Thief was very impressive at Aintree. Bits of 6/1 flying around which is a smashing e/w to nothing.
Just rang cousin, Yard are confident and expect him to go close (Then again what yard wouldn't expect a 2/1 shot to go close), but i won't be betting on it. 2/1 is a **** price and i fancy Ice Age personally. Big words for Lucymai 8 05 and Badenscoth in 9 05 tho. Lucymai more fancied than Eljaddaaf in 8 05, even though price is bigger, ignore jockey bookings. worth a r/fc
Morning, team. Hope everyone tickety-boo. I remember one stage in his career when Port Melon was rumoured to be the latest reincarnation of Pegasus (his first ever run over hurdles was in Grade 2 for which he started at just 7/2 and his second outing was in a Grade 1). But like almost every horse who gets allotted that tagline he ultimately proved woefully short of such a moniker – although he has won over both hurdles and fences for Mr Nicholls. Port Melon has changed ownership since he commenced his career back in ’13 but has remained, throughout, with the Ditcheat handler. As he does today when, fascinatingly, he has his first run in a ‘hunters chase’. Is nicely treated by the conditions of the race and should start his new ‘career’ with a win at a course he has already been victorious at (runs at Kempton, where they race on the sod not the polytrack, in the ‘lucky last’ (7.55)). More one to look out for though with interest rather than wager on as he’s likely to be short enough, hasn’t run for over a year and this type of heat is notorious for throwing up the odd strange result or two. fasinating to see how he fares though, troops. Good luck all.
Am amazed, crew, that nothing has been said about the 2 concluding contests at Warwick – the 2 divisions of the bumper. Cor blimey not one ‘I’ve been told…’ or a well researched / thought provoking word, re this subject, anywhere on the thread. In fact I was expecting to see, re these races, more tips than a competent waiter receives in a week. So then who is going to be the first member to remedy this malady?!? Chop chop. Am tempted to award a ‘Barney Bonus’ to the first one who does.
I did look at them Sir Barney, and I must say the first heat has some nice prices throwing around. False market in my opinion as you have Mr Henderson's charge (who has to shoulder a penalty) and Jonjo's debutant (yard only 1 win from 13 runners in bumpers this season) at the head of the betting and skewing the market. I would be looking possibly at Lucy Wadham's Easter Gold who was a good 2nd on debut and gets age and sex allowances from most of the field. Division 2 I would leave to the expensive Roger Brookhouse purchase (although I am surprised with a capital S that YOU aren't tipping up Some Boy McCoy )
Well done, old boy. You win the ‘Barney Bonus’ with some interesting opinions re the Bumpers. I won’t be wagering in either heat but I wouldn’t look beyond the Lieutenant’s Morning Vicar, owned by The Parishioners, in the first division (5.00). Does have a 7 lbs penalty for his Newbury win, admittedly, but he proved his class that day. Whilst in Div 2 (5.35) the horse from the county named after me (Nearly Perfect) stands out at a big price – currently 33/1. Runner-up in an Irish point in February he was then purchased by current connections for £100,000. His half-brother is also a 139 rated hurdler. There would be worse each-way picks, this season, than him. Some Boy McCoy - is he named after a packet of crisps?!?
A few have caught my eye today but the one I'm surprised at in terms of odds and flying under the radar a bit is Speredek in the 4:15 Handicap Chase. Was a consistent sort, 50% win rate over fences, came second to Un De Sceaux at Ascot recently. Last time out he was pulled up (I think he hit a hurdle pretty badly) - that coupled with carrying top weight makes him a bigger price than he should be imo. Although, I'm not sure what effect on price is had by an English horse trying to beat what seems like 368 Mullins or Elliot horses at Punchestown
Royal reporting continues to bamboozle ................. apparently it is now "News" that Prince William is to be Prince Harry's best men - I'd never have ****ing guessed that one
There seems to be some crazy money about for Louis today! LVG was 125/1 this morn to be the ‘next Arsenal manager’ he is now as low as 14’s (generally 20). Whilst Louis was 40/1 this morn to be the name of the ‘Royal Baby’ and is now generally 3/1. That would be some double, people!
The bookies seem to have a habit of attracting mug bets by doing that. MInd you, if it were true, my son would be gutted because he has never forgiven MU owners for sacking LVG, and to see him go to Arsenal ... not sure how that would go down. He can't wait for Mourinho to get sacked
Said he's had a job offer that's too good to refuse. Popular opinion seems to think Italy or USA national teams.
Noooo...don't sack the miserable self proclaimed special one, he is doing a fantastic job. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
