Despite the setback against Derby, as long as you don't bottle it it's still yours to lose Sparks. Both of your's and Fulhams games you should expect to win on paper and form. Nerves for both sides will play a big part in the final 2 games.
Not so much the defeat but the manner of it. Posted just before half time that we needed a second which never came. Talk about a game of two halves. At the start I was worried that we'd be well into the second half looking for a goal with derby defending hard. Was quite nervous. Once that goal went I relaxed thinking the hard work was done never expecting the implosion that followed.
Half time I was very confident ,obviously the team and Warnock were too. The second half was completely different , after they scored. We couldn't defend , couldn't pass to each other , giving away silly free kicks . I only hope we dont play like that again , especially in the next two games. We've been here before , a load of players having bad games , just need to get back to winning ways no more chances, we need to go out and win these two games , so no sitting back and inviting teams onto us , we actually made Derby look good by sitting back , and allowing them to play .
We do nothing the easy way Supcon, though I wouldn't be surprised if we do win our last two games. Got to gather my thoughts this morning after that shocking defensive display by City second half. Still think it'll go down the final game - even if we lose at Hull and Fulham blow Sunderland away, it will still be all to play for. Beat Reading and Fulham will have stop Brum winning at St Andrews - could be very interesting .
It will be very interesting Sparks, let's hope that the individual errors are all done now; we got out of jail on Saturday after Bamba's pass. We can win the next two I know Hull have started scoring but they are conceding as well. As mentioned previously it was a free hit last night but a win Saturday and last night will be quickly forgotten. Beat Hull and we will beat Reading at home. There's as much pressure on Fulham as us and they play away last game.
Warnock says his "presence" on the pitch gives us an advantage and you could probably grant him that for our goal last night. Otherwise I don't see he offers anything constructive toward the team. His control on the floor is abysmal and the chance he missed last night was criminal. If the figure of 5 or 6 mill we paid for him is correct then we must have been desperate rather than pushing the "wage boat" out to secure Grabban.
Honestly Spark, I'd have preferred a dollop of crap on the pitch, stationary dollop of crap than Madine. If he would have scored that SITTER, we'd have been sailing at 0-2 and have been on to a comfortable win. His aerial presence was the only positive you could take from his performance. Other than that I'd be scraping through the draw trying to find the receipt for him!
I used to bemoan Lambert for doing his impression of a lamp post, but at least he could pass a ball and shoot - this guy is becoming a liability.
Spot on.... And Lambert was 34 / 35 ish, obviously not going to have the same flair he once had. Madine is 7 or 8 years younger and even worse.
I thought Madine played well in the first half, bullied their defence. Was not the same after half time but that could be leveled at most of our players last night.
I have to agree Dai, he was effective in the role he was given....I wish Zohore could play alongside him instead of him. That miss was the equivalent of Zohore’s a few weeks back...typical of a striker out of form! I have no good reason to think it but we will win the final two games, because we have to believe we can! KTF,
Sorry guys - I'm on holiday and on the Fosters and Peronis as a possible excuse, but Madine is crap. Maybe he did a bit part job as a target man but his general play is next to useless. I can't forgive that pathetically weak penalty attempt against Wolves and that excruciating miss last night was embarrassing for him as much as the club. I know it's very easy after the event, but I said on here at the time that I didn't feel he was for us. Grabban was an arsehole as far as money doing the talking but he would have been a genuine asset in this run in rather than a the lame duck that Madine is turning out to be - especially for the ridiculous money we are supposed to have shelled out for him. I need say no more tham Mitrovic - what a loan deal that has been for Fulham. Once again, easy aftert he event, but the guy can hold the ball up, bring others into play with passing skills way beyond the capabilitirs of Madine, and is deadly in front of goal. If we had someone like him we'd be 10 points clear and promoted by now rather than what appears to be just finding someone to put pressure on Zohore - what a negative approach and what a price to pay in both cash and league position.
I don't disagree with your overall point Sparks, I just think he done the job he was given in the 1st half. Let's be honest we have not had a goal scorer since Betty & Chops. Many have come with big profiles but not one has done the business. Kenny Miller Nicky Maynard Joe Mason Fraizer Campbell Kenwyne Jones Peter Odemwingie Heidar Helguson Adam Le Fondre Eoin Doyle Federico Macheda Alex Revell Javi Guerra Idriss Saadi Rickie Lambert Frederic Gounougbe Ibrahim Meite Rhys Headley Omar Bogle Danny Ward Jamie Ward Then we have Kevin Zahore And off course we can't forget Etien Velikonja
I agree that Fulham will win their last two games but that wont matter if Cardiff win their last two games which they are capable of. Derby should have been 3 points in the bag as Cardiff knew that Derby would up their game in the second half but Warnock never changed things to counter the change that was obviously coming....It is still in cardiff's control and win the last two games and it will be celebration time....
Maybe Madine is not being used correctly, they will not start him with Zohore and finish the game with both players. Hoilett blowing hot and cold, as is MDL. You get Fug all for 5 million, just imagine the fees for average players in The Premier League. I agree with the LG point, but did he want to come to us....did he Fug?
Bluey - don't know where all this "we","we","we" is coming from the guy - he's a scouser and posts on the Liverpool board. As far as I know he's never posted on here before. Perhaps it's because we have Grujic? As for the City "season ticket" purchase - has he just moved down here?
