    Fully agree.

Plus sorry not posting much recently, but I was taken out by a terrible bout of flu and then I had several weekend trips.

I am only an occasional poster as I am a bit of a forum 'tart' so my time is spread thinly. However I think there are a lot of good posters on here and I tend to write my opinion without worrying to much if it will get shot down or not. As a rule I only say on a forum what I would say to someones face but I appreciate there are keyboard warriors out there who perhaps wouldn't.

That we can all agree on! Summer is odd with endless articles linking us every available (cheap!) player. Break sounds wise.

I should make the point that I’m not posting less because of anything that has happened on here, simply because I’m otherwise occupied on stuff that, to be frank, I’m finding more interesting, reading mainly. Plus I’ve been travelling for work a lot. Though I did decide not to get involved in any more ‘debates’ on here a few weeks ago as a couple of the responses to stuff I posted either in jest or without due care and attention clearly showed that I had upset some people, and people who I didn’t think would ever be upset about stuff on a message board. And I don’t really want to upset people (challenge, of course). Given my natural style of posting, avoiding debate results in reduced volume.

I still look in frequently, including the politics thread which although it is a painful read sometimes is, in my view, a pretty accurate picture of the state of the nation. I’ll post on things which catch my attention (as I did when bored in A&E last night) but I’ve had enough of the old arguments, both on here and in real life. I’m trying to be a little less cynical and judgemental in all things. I am of course just as cynical and judgemental in my head, but am seeing a little progress in not voicing my cynicism and judgements so readily. It’s even been noticed at home.

Your Review Thread is the best thing on here, I should put more on there. And this board is still the best that I have found, probably because of the off topic stuff. If you only want to see stuff about QPR there is always LFW. We have some excellent posters, and some less excellent ones. DT is an acquired taste, I love the absurd stuff, which we are seeing less of, but am tired of the British bashing (you’ve made your point Paul). It’s also a shame that two of my old mates Col and Stainsey now almost exclusively post to have a go at other posters or the state of the board.

I'm fairly certain Swords was also ABoyInTheBush on the old BBC 606 - considering how often he was on here posting; I'd love to know what he found in life to replace it, cos he posted a lot of volume. Same with Queenslander. Although both of those posters tended towards the confrontational.

It's difficulty to get motivated with mid-table to bottom half position - plus when we are buying no-one, speculations are non-existant.

We need another play-off final - the number of people i met from on here was unreal. A great part of the day

For me I am not most prolific of posters combined with a more hectic work and personal life has meant I just don't get as much free time as previously.

My personal life has changed a lot in the past couple of years and the luxury of time on the internet has been greatly reduced.

This is still a great board with many good people active upon it - I am missing Eamonn Holmes though, he seems to also have been quiet of late?

I am sure at various times over the past nigh on 7 years we have repeated / lamented people who have left, moved on etc, this is life. Roll with it.

My motivation to look in here is to maintain my links to my birthplace, team and like minded West Londoners. It is essential for me to maintain this link, be it through the QPR related threads or the O/T ones. I derive much enjoyment from the O/T threads tbh.

It is too early to resurrect the 'What Cheese?' thread, I'll save that for the boring gap between next season and the World Cup.

So anyway, just keep on and don't fade away. We are a harmless and over opinionated bunch and thank heavens for that.

In my defence there is only one poster I have a go at, and again I think I have good reason..I’ll stop so you can all blow smoke up his arse and tell him how funny he is
(The last bit was a joke btw ;) )

Are you talking about the eternally miserable Flyer? I think Beth used to see him at games and was ok in person.

Willy you are right of course but you know I certainly wouldn’t hide behind a username or ego. I would and could be very aggressive in real life if required. There are clubs on here without doubt it’s natural and I doubt if there has ever been a more hostile time than the divide of Brexit People are not happy in general and certainly not happy about QPR

I have met you and instantly knew you are a caring human being with a passion for QPR
These are dark times and only going to get worse imo The spirit of the fight is required

Flyer was a brilliant person and caught a match with him once he couldn’t handle the abuse he got and I don’t blame him for leaving ... remember he was threatened and nothing was done at the time !!!!

I will add my thoughts to this interesting thread. I presume that every poster had individual "needs" and I will explain mine.

I am British born and lived in Kensal Rise, hence the Queen's Park area, and later Willesden. For reasons of "local club" as well the "quality of the football", from around 1970 on going to secondary school near Holland Park, I started to support QPR and got hooked. I left to go to Poland in 1991 for a "couple of years" and have not returned. No surprisingly, my following of the R's was then very limited and really restricted to teletext and the odd old newspaper. With the development of the internet and such forums, everything changed with my exiled QPR experience.

Around 2002, I discovered that there are QPR forums and after evaluating several, I was attracted by LFW and the high quality (but lengthy) journalism of Clive. It allowed me to get very detailed insights and to regain the missing "QPR experience". I religiously read all the previews, reviews and analyses. but originally I was not a poster. When I finally “declared my cheese" and started to post, I found it extremely cliquey and unfriendly, so I was a rare poster, except for the odd QPR footy matter.

After some time, a poster Roller encouraged me to take a look at The not606 QPR board. I admit that initially I was not impressed as there were no "journalistic articles" and "only threads". However on my first post, I was genuinely surprised at the very warm reception and I have found this forum to generally be non-cliquey, well balanced and rather similar to popping into a pub where with friends, acquaintances and others, you can discuss the last match, the next match and predict the team. So you can learn, chat and gossip about QPR, plus as always, you can touch other topics such as jokes, current affair, historical and non-historical pictures, plus the passing away of "celebrities", etc. As such, it is a large part of my personal QPR experience, as is the journalism on LFW, and most recently the QPR+ streams.

So for me, the core of this site is the QPR related banter and exchange of opinions. Other topics are interesting, but generally I do not have the time to read them in detail. If there is much activity at QPR, then I tend to be more involved, if it is the off-season, then less. Plus much depends on what is happening in the "real world". If you are ill, busy or travelling, you have less time and other priorities.

So my personal conclusion. It is the quality of the QPR related discussions which are the core to attract and keep members and posters. The uniqueness of this forum is the openness, self-moderation and respect of other posters, and we should respect this as a key "value". However, like in the "real world" or even pubs, people come and go. It is normal and part of "life".

I am also pleased that on my rare visits to LR I have had the opportunity to meet a few posters and the experience has been very postive. :)
