Just got back home from stamford bridge where we battled out in a great match. You guys will definitely stay in the prem.. no question. You came to attack us and in the first half, you were the better team despite our goal. In the second half it was even until the penalty decision when we then decided to play football. From where I was sitting, it loked like a penalty and a definite red card but will watch it on MOTD and see it up closer. Your fans really are a great bunch. You sold out your allocaton of 3000 which was a great effort and the yellow army didn't stop singing all match. If it wasnt for your fans, stamford bridge would have been dead. You are some of the best away fans in england in my opinion and we will show you our away suport when we visit carrow road. Anyway, I follow norwich as a second team so it was great to see my two favourite teams playing and I hope to o to the return fixture at carrow road. Well played today and good luck for the rest of the season. I really want to see you stay up.
Thanks for that cb, can you tell Hampy, the Ipswich mod, how good we were, he thinks because we're proud of our boys today, that we're definitely going down.
Kind words there thanks If we stop giving penalties away then I think we could be ok you never know, long way to go See you for the reverse fixture
Yeah, Chelsea's Premiership experince and world class football proved to be the difference. Seen the the penalty incident a couple of times but need to see a better quality clip so will be waiting until Match of the Day, but from what I saw it was a foul and probably a red card. So no hard feelings. Mata looks to be a great signing for Chelsea and was good when he cam on, he was always going to score that goal when our defender made that pass. Wondering if you still have Benayoun, as I saw Mata had Benayoun's squad number - like the player but just not good enough to get into the first team on a regular basis. Still not sure why he didn't play regularly for Liverpool. Wasn't there today, but went for the FA cup game a couple of seasons a go. Great ground, unfortunately the pitch wasn't in good condition and we lost 4-0, but loved it!
I think that he now has the number 30... you're right.. mata looks a quality signing and Im chuffed with myself bause i went to the chelsea megastore and brought the new cfc shirt and asked for mata on the back... went to pick it up after the game... good choice me thinks!
no problem.... yep im looking forward to going to carrow road. Never been before and should be a good day out. How many tickets do you allocate for big matches like us for the away fans?
If he comes on this board I will certainly fight your corner for you. Hey, we stuffed them 7-0 last season so he can jog on :
Chelseaboi, what are your thoughts of Hilario - been told he's prone to mistakes, such as today. If Cech was out for longer than 4 weeks would you want another keeper?
Oh yes.. he is utter ****e... today he flapped at a ball which he was never gunna get. He is hopeless and unreliable. We just bought a new keeper from genk but we have loaned him out. Hope he gets back soon! Really not a fan of Hilario as you can tell!
Turned off when the ref called for 11 minutes stoppage time - could only see one team winning when Ruddy got sent off and so it proved. I therefore didn't see Mata's goal, but from what I did see he looked like a class act. Lukaku will be a good signing for you too, I'm sure. Onto Norwich, and I'm very proud of how well we played today. Hilario was definitely to fault for our goal, but Holt was well composed and took his chance well. Holty should have definitely scored in the first half as well when Hoolahan sent him through, but he clearly felt he didn't have time to control the ball, and was unlucky. As for your first goal, and I think that, as the season goes on, we will learn to close down opponents a lot quicker than we closed down Bosingwa today. He was given far too much time on the ball, but took his chance perfectly and it was a fine shot. Into the second half, and I believe it was a stone wall penalty, as Ruddy got nowhere near to the ball, but there is a question mark for me over the red card. Ramires was clearly going away from goal, but whether or not he would have put the ball away or not anyway is a question that will have to be answered later. I would have given a yellow. Overall though, a fantastic performance for City, but Chelsea's class did eventually shine through. I wish Drogba a speedy recovery from injury and thank you for your kind words, chelseaboi.
Cheers for your kind words also Yeah lukaku looks good as does mata... Yeah if you had closed down bosingwa he wouldnt have got his sht away but you will learn im sure... Good honest report from you... you guys are a good lot of fans
Thats not too bad... will sell out no doubt so should make for a good atmoshere.. our away fans are class like yours.. look forward to going
Hadn't really heard of Mata before, hasn't really got a chance of getting into the Spain squad as there is so much quality already in their midfield. Not even Fabregas can get into the starting line up regularly. Mata's obviously had to live in Silva's shadow while at Valencia. I think he will shine at Chelsea, and in the Premier League. Looking forward to seeing him at Carrow road. Also, thanks for the kind words!
Hard lines today canaries, we will be up soon enough I guess, from what I have heard you were a match for them and didn't capitulate , so there is hope and I wish we can give em a harder game with brendan's knowledge of Chelsea
Nice comments there from Chelseaboi so thanks for the compliments. Let's all take the positives out of today's game. All the so called experts predicted a thrashing but we more than held our own at the home of one of Europe's top teams. Even the pundits on the BBC were forced to admit that we should have got at least a point. I have no doubt that if we continue to play like that we will stay up and our first win will come pretty soon. It seems that there is enough creativity in the team to cause any side in this division some problems. It is clear however that we need to cut out the sloppy defensive errors and do something about what is already becoming a poor disciplinary record. Lambert will sort it out and once we have properly adjusted to playing at this level we'll be fine.
In the vein hope Lanc reads this thread, with the other being closed, and this being a little relevant: - We were 'marginally' defeated (by Chelsea away might i add). You had your pants pulled down, and were given a right pummelling by Peterborough. The officials may have been responsible for 2, maybe 3 of the goals you conceded - regarding the result however it was entirely insignificant. We on the other hand have every right to berate our luck; on another day (or another ground), Torres would likely have been sent off, we'd probably have finished the game with 11 men, and i'd bet there are plenty of ref's out there that would have looked at Ramirezs' fall as cynical. Account for three, two, or even one of those, and there's a fair chance that game would have finished evenly, perhaps even with a win for us. Peterborough screwed you over regardless. The fact you've looked to compare two distinctly disimilar situations in favour of your bias shows how embarassingly blighted your perception is (not to mention the standard of opposition). And Blackpool were relegated by the officials last season, as a recently published table analysing and displaying the inadequate officiating of the Premier League showed (i forget the domain name - the link may have been posted on this forum), with the Tangerines (unsurprisingly) sufferring the most frequent 'mistakes' from ref's above any other side. We don't appear to be exempt from that, having quite clearly been robbed of at least 4 points already this season. The one saving grace is we're a much better side than Blackpool - hopefully that will be enough this season.
Just want to say something to that ipswich fan who has been baiting the norwich fans this afternoon... First of all, I was at both this game today and the game last season when we stuffed you 7-0... you lot were not good at all that day... today this norwich side showed grit and determination and gave it a real go today... a lot better than what you guys did... Also I dont think you can argue that they dont deserve their place in the prem... theyre a good side and getting promoted showed that. Fact is.. norwich are better than ipswich and this is from a neutral view.. they destroyed ipswich in the two games at carrow road and portman road... dont get jealous because theyre in a higher league.
Sorry for the comment appearing a little out of place, only i face the frusration of another 'closed thread' after having spent my time composing a reply i clearly should have had a second thought about. Thanks for the comments chelseaboi - my big brother is a Chelsea fan, have a lot of respect for the club. Hopefully things pick up a little for you (although for an outsider it's not all that easy to see how you're wavering in any way). Here's hoping we'll be up against the 'Premier League Champions' at Stamford Bridge next season.
Sorry for stealing your thunder SKC but the abuse was starting to get a bit personal. I don't mind people having differing points of view, but I can't stand back and allow name-calling
