Mweh... go for it. It's the biggest trophy in the sport. What message does it send our best players if we concebtrate on anything but getting to the final. I understand the building argument but as we've seen with our best players ... any sign that they can only win these things elsewhere and they are off. Players don't care about 3 years from now. As it is we have players returned from injury ... this squad was big enough to play CL games and then win league games earlier in the season so no difference now. Can't be telling the players we don't think they are good enough to beat Roma but not Stoke within a week... they'll win neither with that attitude
Liverpool Football Club would like to advise supporters attending Tuesday's Champions League semi-final match against AS Roma that the coach arrival route will take place along Arkles Lane, near to Anfield stadium. LFC reminds fans that the use of flares and other pyrotechnics in and around football stadiums is prohibited. Supporters who do ignite such devices will face arrest and prosecution. The club has been charged recently by UEFA for Liverpool supporters using pyrotechnics during recent matches, which will result in sanctions being imposed on the club and could result in ticket allocations being reduced at future games. Liverpool Football Club would like to thank supporters in advance who show their support in a friendly, respectful and considerate manner. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/announcements/299172-liverpool-roma-coach-arrival
That was back when there was 4 clear top 4 clubs so unless you really ****ed up top 4 was achievable. No city with their money just chelsea, and spurs wasn't as good as they are nowdays. I thoroughly enjoyed 01 more than I did other years of making top 4 and playing in CL as you don't win a trophy for qualifying for something.

newcastle.were better than us and we edged into 4th by getting last min goal from mcallister v everton however I totally agree. 01 was far.more enjoyable than years of cl and 2nd or 4th or even one trophy. . or a losing cl final. these sfs are rare and we just just enjoy it imo. we've done so well and should just enjoy it and not worry about losing.
That Gary Mac goal in the Merseyside derby was on the 16th of April, its not the goal that 'edged us into 4th spot' We finished in 3rd spot aswell
The context is we drew with Ipswich and lost to Leeds and had slipped out of cl spots. The pressure was massive at it was 2-2 The entire season could have collapsed but McAllister scored and we won 4 and drew one v Chelsea, beat Barca in second leg of UEFA cup 3 days after, won fa cup final we were hammered in. This goal literally ignited us.
The Everton game earned us 3 points but we still had another 4 or 5 games left.........................................................................so no
