Or anyone with less than say 100 games under their belt. Definitely shouldn't be a seasoned pro like Sane, Sterling & Kane are. Not too fussed about Ederson being in there since this is only his second full season playing. Transfer means **** all imo.

I don't really mind if people like Sane, Kane, Sterling etc. are on the list because they are still relatively young, and it is young player of the year award, not breakthrough player of the year. Just because they are playing at such a high level for their respective ages doesn't mean they should be punished and not be able to compete for a prize like this because of that.

the way spurs use him i think you are probably right. I think he will be broken down like rooney by the age of 28.

Mind you he's not got any pace anyway so he might be a teddy sheringham figure at age 36 still playing for spurs in midtable.

#bbcsalford dedicate a single sentence to Salah's award in their Live thread and can't even be bothered saying how many assists he made <laugh>

"Liverpool's new King of the Kop, goal machine Mo Salah also gets a mention after this 40 goals and numerous assists earned him the recognition of his peers at the PFA's annual awards evening."

Not making the third four is the last straw that breaks the camel's back.

The bbc instead of congratulating Mo for winning the award are putting a negative spin on it, asking now if he actually deserved it.
They also posted the views of Guardiola on the subject, someone should tell him it's not a team award and it's voted for by players not managers, hacks or fans.

Surely there can be no argument over Mohamed Salah's credentials as the PFA Player of the Year?

After all he's scored a bucket-load of goals and helped Liverpool into the Champions League semi-finals - for the first time in a decade - where they will host Roma tomorrow (19:45 BST kick-off).

Wrong. Just across the M62, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has suggested that his player Kevin de Bruyne, should not have been overlooked for the Egyptian.

"From my point of view, when you are analysing nine, 10 months, there was no player better than him [De Bruyne]," Guardiola said.

"Maybe there are guys with numbers better than him, but, for me, in the team that wins (the title) with five games to go, he was the best. I would like to feel he deserves it. But in the end, in summer time he will be at home being champion."

Not many people agree with Pep:

    #bbcfootball or text on 81111

Ant: Pathetic from Pep Guardiola, Goal-scoring is the hardest thing in football. No contest in my mind, Salah everyday of the week.

Anon: Considering Pep is a football man! His reaction to Salah winning is very childish.

Brian R: I think that had Kevin De Bruyne won the PFA award he would have offered to share it with Mo Salah. No offer the other way though.
