If we were to win the FA cup this would be 1 of the best seasons in Saints history, MP2 and Sparky would go down as 2 of the most successful mangers ever to manage a saints side. I nearly cried when i typed that.

Wouldn't it technically be out best as we can't have a lower league finish than '76?

Very good point. Turns out this isn't the first season we haven't been very good at football. Who'd have thought?

You are having a laugh. There hasn´t been an English international player fit to lace Alan Ball´s boots for over a generation now. And I include Gerrard and Beckham in this. assessment. Paul Scholes, maybe.

Hard to compare players of different generations because the overall standard of football is constantly improving.

You only said Scholes because he's ginger, didn't you?

What about Frank Lampard? Or Nicky Butt?

Imagine how good Terry Hurlock would have been if he was ginger.

Both, think some don't give a **** and haven't for a time. Then add the players that are scared of making a mistake makes us how we are now

    Fear. Evidence?
You've got to assume that the vast majority of average EPL players like playing well, getting praised, winning games etc. Its much more fun than being **** and losing without even getting to the competitive nature required to become an EPL standard player
You saw the Arsenal & Chelsea games so wouldn't you say we looked REALLY happy when we scored and REALLY pissed off when they scored
Not many of these guys are just going to waltz into another highly paid job if we go down

I'll tell you who didn't care, VVD, because he knew he had a job he could walk into and he didn't have to try, so he didin't
It takes some ego to do that though

50K a week makes you rich, it doesn't take away stress when you're playing

A VVD who didn't care was still our best player by a long way :(
