MacDonald doing the presser with Nige this morning. please log in to view this image Adkins up first... "Everyone is looking good fitness-wise. There will be changes from the side that played at the weekend. We've got a large group of players who are all working hard. I'll pick the team that I think is right for this club and right to play against our next opponents." "It's a game we need to win to make sure we stay in the division for next season. It's the first of our last three games and I want us to win them all. We've been in good form of late - scoring goals and playing some good football." "Bristol City managed to stay up last season and they’ve had an excellent year this season. It’s a game they need to win and it’s a game we’re looking to win to be in the Championship next year. It should be an exciting game on Saturday." "We can’t effect what other people do we’re just looking at ourselves. We have to keep a clean sheet and score goals. Even if we were safe I would still want to win. I want a good performance from the players. We're building momentum for next season." "The players enjoy coming to training and everyone is enjoying it. The pitch looks magnificent and the weather has picked up a little bit. I keep driving the message about what a good passing side I want us to be." "Dan Batty is a talented, talented football player who can go a long way. I would have liked to have played him more had we got ourselves safe earlier. He's got massive potential." "He trains with us every day and he’s surrounded by talented role models - Seb Larsson is just one example. I think he has immense talent and a fantastic ability. He's got a bright future ahead of him. I want players to come through our youth system." (on Brian Lenihan): "It’s such a shame for him to have to retire at such a young age. He’s got a bright future in front of him though and everyone here wishes him well. Brian is in a good place, which is good, and we wish him all the best." "Michael Dawson will be in the team on Saturday. I haven’t named the team yet but he’ll have the armband on. His attitude has been exemplary Sometimes you need the role models in your team who will set the right example every day." "There’s a good chance Jarrod Bowen could play - he’ll be in the squad put it that way. When you look at the players I have got, I have to make decisions and everyone can do the maths - I can only pick 11 players to start each game." Angus up next... "I've enjoyed every minute of it since arriving here. I've probably played a lot more than I expected. I know how well I can perform - but I was in and out of the team at Barnsley - and expected it to take time to get into the side here." "We’re not thinking we’re safe, not until it's mathematically guaranteed. We want to reach 50 points - we can start enjoying games a little bit more then. We didn’t take our chances against Sheff Wed last time out, but its the same focus." "We’ve come a long way since January. Everyone has pulled together - wanting to be safe - and that continues to be the case. As I say, we're fully focused ahead of facing Bristol City and we want to get the result needed to make ourselves safe." The end.
BBC Humberside Sport @HumbersideSport #hcafc head coach Nigel Adkins confirms a deal has now been offered to Allan McGregor.
Great news, hopefully the angriest man alive stays with us and continues to try hit the referee with a volley from 70 yards away
Adkins on Wilson and Larsson Seb knows we would like to keep him here, since I have come in we have had a couple of conversations and he is enjoying his football. I don’t know if we’ve offered him a deal but he’s enjoying his football. He’s going to go to the World Cup and he’s at an age where he can decide what he wants to do. He’s got to be up there for one of the Player of the Years. I want him to be with us next season, the owners know I want him. I’d like to think there’s an opportunity for him to be here or not. We’ve made it known to Liverpool that we want Wilson back. All the loan players will go back to their clubs then towards the end of the pre-season period they will decide whether they are ready. Liverpool know we want Harry to stay and Harry knows too. He’s enjoying it here and he sees the environment that he needs to go and work in. It’s in his interest that he’s out there playing football. I haven’t spoken to Jurgen Klopp.
That sounds positive about Wilson, hopefully Liverpool can see the good its doing him to be with us playing regularly. Larsson I wasn't expecting to stay, hopefully dickhead in charge does something to make it happen
Genuinely forgot we had a match , for some reason I thought our season had finished , think I'm losing it
Adkins has brilliant man management skills and as shown by Cardiff (probably) it's not always the best teams that go up Regards to the weekend I think it will end up a draw.
