Time to forget the pints, pies and burgers, and start thinking about cucumber sandwiches, cakes and cups of tea on the steps to the pavilion. A season of promise, a season of despair. A season with two head coaches and an injury list long enough to keep an A & E department busy. Will it be remembered for any great highlights? Probably not many. The wins against the top teams gave one a sense that maybe we were becoming a force, but then as other teams found out, we suffered some crushing defeats, knocking a bit of sense back into our heads. Yes, another season of PL football awaits us we hope, but will that be better as one of the smaller clubs? Our visitors Crystal Palace have also had their fair share of trials and tribulations this season, but are slowly edging their way towards safety. Six points above the third from bottom team Southampton should be fair enough to keep them in the league. Certainly their form and results improved with the return from injury of please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Wilfried Zaha. Despite his high level astonishment at referees inability to see how frequently he has his legs taken away inside the penalty area, the team do see him as a talisman figure. please log in to view this image Chris Kavanagh will take charge of Watford’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace . Will Gracia have the cojones to drop Deeney and try something different up top? Will we concede late again? Will Zaha terrorise us with his Olympic pool style? We need the 3 points more than most imagine, this and Newcastle are are only "real" chances to get to 40 points. Cheers OFH. COYH FFS show a bit of fire.
This game is so hard to predict. Will Zaha get the winning penalty in the 89th minute or the 90th minute? I just don't know!
Zaha to play some major role ofcourse - iterally maybe !! Cannot see us scoring enough or keeping it tight at the back .
Have they all got heat-stroke!? Knowing our medical record/team probably over done it in training. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/16171415.INJURY_UPDATE__Watford_squad_his_by_illness/?ref=rss
Gracia generally avoiding some directish questioning with generic answers: https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/team-news-crystal-palace-1
I have never looked forward to a Watford game less. All my enthusiasm seems to have gone and I cannot expect anything from this game or any of those left now. I expect a defeat - again. In theory we ought to still get a win or two but I cannot see it happening and think we will again end up bottom of the non relegated teams. A season of promise went phut.
It has become embarrassing how we throw points away so frequently or else are set up to allow quality offensive teams to carve us up and bag a hat full of goals against us. When ever we conceed a goal that puts us behind its game over, I can not remember when we last came from behind and won?
I feel your pain, this implosion is familiar though and that is the worse thing about it. Four games to turn it around. COYH.
This is a big game as my brother in law supports palace and his been full of woe all season... we must get at least a point Driving down with Mlle in an hour and a bit COYH!!
I've been telling most of my colleagues that I can see us losing all our remaining games - sitting at a desk next to a Citeh supporter doesn't help..
One of my best mates is a Palace STH and we had long planned to go to this game together with him staying at Hôtel Fez, we make a day of it in Croydon when at their place.... but he forgot to get a ticket... I wonder what he knows.... I want us to win this match so badly, if only to get one back on him via text...
We’ve lost games in the 90th minute or later 4 times this season. Just read that’s a record in the Premier League era. My question today is what’s the plan for Zaha? We need to have a specific plan. Have they been working on doubling up on him whenever he has the ball in a dangerous area in training this week? This is exactly what other teams started to do on Ricky, so if he beats one, the next man is there waiting. Are we ready for Zaha and Townsend to start switching flanks? Etc etc. I hope they’ve all done their homework. Come on Watford, let’s show some fight today and get this win we’ve been waiting for.
