Raheem is having a good season and scoring goals in a side that scores many. He has pace and is surrounded by expensive, highly talented
team members. If I had been asked at the start of the season what was Sterling's maximum goal tally, I think I would have said maybe 20 in all
comps., bearing in mind he would play 50 games or so.

But I still say he is not a natural finisher  .............if he was his stats would be frightening.

I guess Citeh would say they are more than happy with Sterling's contribution <diva>

Pep left him out of the CL first leg because he knew he's a #bottler

Then he had to play him against Man Utd where he #bottled their chance of winning the PL against them

Zaha is turning out to be a really good player, could be a case of big fish in the small pond of Palace. But I think Man U and England have missed a trick in either losing him to Ivory Coast or not being patient.

I think Sterling has the potential to be a world beater, IF he can put away more of the numerous chances that he gets. He is fast, can dribble, can attack defenders, finds space and gets at the end of many long passes. City wouldn’t have bought him otherwise.

Nobody could possibly argue against these points.

    They are irrefutable facts.

I would agree. Help bridge the gap between City and United.

Leaving the rest to fight for 3rd and 4th

He does didnt have the belief that he could force his way in to the England squad.

He did an Andy Townsend and took any country he could. If you are born in Jamaica, play for them FFS. #sterlinginitforthemoney

    He isn’t a Salah.

    @Diego

Why are you on the Spuds board spouting ****?

    <laugh>

"This is the difference between you lot and the scousers. You both have a very valid point that it's hard to compete against teams that can just throw money at the problem but, the scousers then go on to say how that money is wasted on **** players <doh>"

    "players"?

Sterling was the only player mentioned, and not all of us commented.:emoticon-0172-mooni

Who mentioned Stones?, all of us?

It's like when Matth has a brainfart or Christine Smith goes on one of his vitriolic anti-LFC rants, should they be attributed to you as well as them?

He can actually defend too if required. It was always his end product that was the issue

Do you think Poobag (if I remember correctly) and Lukaku are worth the money we spent?
Are Sterling and Stones worth the money?
If not then the whinging about how much us and City spend seems pretty pointless, you should be laughing and leaving us in your wake :emoticon-0100-smile

Could it not possible be different posters saying those two things? Unless you're just talking about Astro of course.

I certainly don't think "Poobag" as you called him was/is worth the fee paid tbh, as you know from Fergie's tenure at your club all players were cogs in the wheel, some bigger and better than others but they worked well together.
A mixture of youth, Stellar buys and average buys brought Utd success during the Fergie years, just because a player pulls on the City, Chelsea or Utd shirt doesn't make him equal in stature(which was what you were implying on the Spurs board)with the best player/s at the club.
You said you agreed Spurs and us can't throw the big money at it that the three teams I mentioned can, but as since Fergie has retired has shown many mega-million pound guys weren't worth it and have since been ****ed off.
So, here's Utd(for example)sitting one point ahead of us in the league and out of Europe with all the big signings and paying the biggest wage bill in the Prem, it's all about getting value for money, and this season Utd ain't getting it.

So basically all the whinging about not being able to compete with the money clubs is just a **** excuse for failure then?

Pogba is a very good player being wasted by a very restrictive manager.

I don't think he was worthy of a world record transfer fee but considering how the market bombed twelve months later, it doesn't look too bad now.

Stick him under a more flamboyant manager and he'd shine imo

With the money Man Utd are able to and have spent, they should be further ahead of us. I think the reason they're not is partly Mourinho (shackling players) and partly Klopp (getting the best out of what we have)

Nope, it's a thin line between two sides of the argument.

Okay, we don't spend or pay as much in general for players and can't compete with the wages paid by City, Utd and Chelsea, but as far as the other clubs go we in general spend bigger and pay more in wages, so it's all relevant and the table usually shows that, meaning we've been in the 2nd tier of clubs in the table.
Or, are you saying that the money spent by City didn't win them the title?, of course it did, otherwise there's a manager as good as Pep in League Two who would show he is but because his club are cash strapped he can't.
