Just been reading some of the completely foolish drivel that a select few are writing on this board in reference to the owners of our club. It seems that the Allam family who saved the club from going under...again can do no right. They have ploughed in tens of millions of pounds to keep the club running, invested in the team when we needed it and have provided us with a club that will listen to the fans and act on it. No pie in the sky ideas, just realistic ones, and although the money is not being splashed about at the moment without any due thought does not mean that they are here with an alterer motive. The comparison with the Lloyd regime is a joke. 1/ David Lloyd was a southerner who couldn't give two hoots about the city or indeed its football team. Allams, local to the city and clearly care by saving us from administration 2/ The afore mentioned did not even know where Hull was or even know a single think about the team. Allams have massive ties with the city and realise how important our football team and our rugby teams are to the city in general. 3/ The Lloyd regime gave up when the going got tough and he had to put his own money into us, something the allams have done already. Ok, we may not be spending silly money like leicester or Brighton to a certain extent but i would rather see us get to an even keel than go through the debacle we had with the Duffen saga. The Allams are adventurous with their plans to regenerate the area around teh KC and i do not see that as a bad thing if it brings in more money, more people to the KC, the tigers or Hull itself. Cheer up and cheer on the team that we so nearly lost. http://www.not606.com/images/smilies/emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif
Well i am glad that it aint just me who feels that we are onto a good thing and people chose to criticise every aspect of the club when its the playing side that aint working! Hats off!
I blame groups like the equalities commission an the PC brigade. Since they banned the bearded lady and two headed calf type side shows, talking arseholes have too much spare time on their ..erm.. hands?
Anybody slating the Allams is pretty misguided to say the least, as far as I'm concerned when the old Allam pops his clogs they need to get a statue up for him to appreciate what he/they have done for Hull, not just our club. We are very, very fortunate to have such generous owners. I saw the comments on the other thread, it's as if some people expect them to be just giving their money away, talk about taking things for granted.
It's a pity that over the years no other local benefactor has been forthcoming. Since Harold Needler the local business community and wealth have been willing to see City die. Thankfully the Allams were not the same.
Most people who have hung around with Hull City for the past ten years or so know a good thing when they see it, and the Allams will no doubt be seen as positive to our club. The OP has it spot on.
They appear to being criticised for not spending a lot of money on players unlike the other clubs mentioned, and wanting to build the village. They have invested vast sums in Hull City. Unfortunately most of that money had to go to banks, the tax man, players, agents, other clubs and just keeping the club going until the end of the year. That should not be forgotten but unfortunately it is by some. If they had not had to spend money on the above they may have invested more heavily in players but whose fault is that?
Well said Rich Uttley. The Allams haven't got a bottomless pit of money and have already spent some of their fortune on saving the club. Unlike the previous regime, they don't want to throw money at things and are thinking about things in the long term.
Agree with OP, anyone criticising the Allams is obviously a thick TW at. The Allems, god bless em, have sunk more cash into our club then all of us could ever hope to own. God or Allah bless them
There's been a couple, but this one pretty much sums things up... http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/80495-Can-I-have-a-brief-update.
Thank you Manuel!! Glad i am not the only one who thinks this way! Anyways, hope that todays result and a continuous improvement on the pitch will keep the 'haters' from moaning!!
