I'm feeling confident tonight - I predict a 1-3 win for the Addicks, maybe after conceding first. I have faith that Lee Bowyer will make it right if things do not begin well.
In other news ManC are 1-0 up. Can they turn around a three goal decifit? On the train following both. Late night working
Ouch... No such thing as a good time to concede I suppose, but on the stroke of half time is always a shocker. No shots on target for Charlton apparently, it's down to Bowyer to put it right now. I still think he can do it.
A very disappointing result and a poor performance too by the sounds of it. I fear we are going to bottle it. #ThisIsCharlton
A big set back tonight, and a hard lesson for Lee Bowyer. But the play-off race is not over yet. There are still five games to play and we are still in 6th place.
We need to go 5 games unbeaten now to make the play offs, but the last 2 performance have been average.
Christ he's like suicidal Syd The race for the spots is absolutely not over by a long shot. There are still three places up for grabs with even Rotherham not exactly safe yet. Think this will go to the wire with most of the clubs in it now still in it at the end. Time to be disappointed will come but it's not now. There are people who post on one of the Plymouth boards who took out bets for Argyle to reach the play offs at odds of 500/1. That's when we were bottom. There is a cash out option and one guy has been offered over £4k before tonight and refuses to even look at it. That's really holding your nerve.
Plymouth will secure 5th place I think. That leaves one place to play for and four teams in the fight for it; Charlton, Portsmouth, Scunthorpe and Peterborough. We still have a chance to beat Scunthorpe and Portsmouth during our last five games. Lee Bowyer won't give up, he will be putting everything into making that happen. The only way we fans can help him now is to get to those games if we can and get behind his team. The first opportunity comes in only four days time at the Valley. I'll be there, and I hope to see as big a crowd as we can muster for an afternoon which will probably decide our season.
I'm 70 next year and have at least 60 years following Argyle. If you want to trade let downs then my bet is I will win that one hands down. We have Portsmouth this week. Rotherham and Scunthorpe later. I don't think anyone can say any of the teams involved has secured anything yet.
I think need to be less accepting of sh1t results like this. Everyone shrugged last night and said “typical Charlton”...it’s Wimbledon FFS ! Look at the run Millwall are on. We lack mental strength & chaacter.
Our three loanees up front are getting particularly panned by those who were there on CL, not that anyone gets praise. We've been down this path before. The Don's report should be interesting reading.
KaiKai has been a massive disappointment. Vintage Gobbo BS when he claimed we beat a number of Championship clubs to get him on loan.
Ghastly. We were poor and never looked like scoring, can’t remeber any clear chances for us, but I was quite drunk. Zyro’s first touch was utterly dreadful all game, I counted at least 8 times where he lost the ball as a result of his first touch. Less said about Kaikai the better - how is he a professional footballer? Mavididi didn’t look fit/up to it, but coming from the Arsenal academy he hasn’t faced 3 20 stone giants before. Fans were singing for Ajose to come on and Bowyer brings on Marshall . Poor mistake from Bauer led to their goal, similar to Bristol’s goal on Saturday. Only players to come out with any credit are Ben Reeves and Lewis Page. Taken them far too long, but they are showing that they are very good players at this level. We were just bullied all over the pitch - they were bigger and stronger than us & wanted it more.
Oh dear, I thought we'd given up the habit of being bullied. A home performance like that would end our brief optimism.
