Boris can act like a Buffoon at times but he is highly intelligent. You cannot compare the 2 regarding intellect. don't waste your time trying.
Buffoon, muppet, liar, dangerous imbecile, call him what you like, his level of intellect means very little when he is situated in a position of power and behaves like he does. That didn't waste too much time.
Well done Ellers. Your self-proclaimed even-handedness has led you to carefully weigh up the merits of the current crop of politicians and conclude that the opposition is universally poor, whilst remaining steadfastly uncritical of anyone in your government. Have you not heard every Tory on TV or radio this weekend trotting out the same nonsense about the spike in violent crime having nothing to do with the fact that Theresa May cut police numbers by 20,000? On one hand we are told that there will be 300 extra police on patrol in London (presumably to reassure us that we are not going to get murdered by drug gangs on the way to the corner shop) whilst on the other hand they tell us that police numbers are irrelevant. Pathetic. I agree with you about Diane Abbott - she is an idiot, and I have said so numerous times on here. If you had said that today's politicians of all persuasions are of low quality I would have agreed with you on that too.
Sadly Stroller I cannot take you seriously especially when you said You put Corbyn and Statesman in the same sentence.
eer no, that's is wrong. A good education is essential especially in politics. Can you imagine Abbott being in power? She can't even count FFS. I think, like a few others you don't like the Tories and will complain whether they are right or wrong. Fact is, buffoon or not, Boris is liked more than Corbyn and Abbott.
Boris is a buffoon. So is Abbott. As for education you do realise Abbott is a Cambridge graduate (**** knows how) so indeed education seems to count for f all
Ellers, with all due respect, what are you on? Boris' worthiness or validity has nothing to do with his opposite number. I'm not bashing Boris to score points. Had he behaved logically, fairly and with caution, I'd have praised him, but he's been caught out, intelligent or not and he's getting away with it because the media are focusing on street violence in London and the latest development in Syria. Academic achievement and performance means nothing if you have neither common sense nor moral to put it to good use. The man needs to account for his lies.
Sorry have I missed something here. Are you saying 100% that Boris has lied? if not then stop speculating.
As Mayor of London, Johnson promised to totally eradicate rough sleeping by 2012 - it doubled under his leadership. His 2008 manifesto promised there would be manned ticket offices at every station - he closed all of London's ticket offices. He said he would reduce transport fares - they increased by 4.2%. During the referendum campaign, he rode around the country in a red bus with a giant lie painted on the side of it - a lie that he continues to repeat. Oh, and he's previously been sacked twice for lying. Now, either Johnson lied about what he had been told by Porton Down, or their spokesman lied. What does you even-handed reasoning tell you, Ellers?
okay once again you're letting your hatred for the Tories get in the way of facts. You talk about Boris and London Mayor but he was better than Khan. Khans record as mayor is not that great. He was wrong to moan about the Trump visit when worse leaders are allowed to visit without him saying anything. Violent crime under his leadership has risen. I listened to Sky who said it wasn't that bad under Boris. Boris gave us the 'Borisbike' which is a huge success and he was a great ambassador fo the Olympics. Khan is always getting slated for being a crap Mayor. https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/9...ord-crime-housing-funding-Brexit-latest-video As for the bus and money. It was proven that the money is probably a lot higher however we haven't left yet so you can't say he has lied. Let's wait and see if the money does go to the NHS. I reckon they may in fact get a bit more As or Porton Down, I will wait for the confirmation which I am sure will point to Russia. The news has not once said he has lied so again you are speculating.
nope apparantly she has a cambridge masters (I can't see if that was following an ungraduate course from there) Boris has 99% lied (either he is or porton down are, i don't see whats in it from Porton down unless the russian mafia have kidnapped the spokemans family)
dunno all reports i read Boris says Porton Down said it was russia but Porton Down says it doesn't know? https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...g-novichok-spy-poisoning-latest-a8288216.html
Well, I wasn't making a point about the Tories, I was talking about Johnson's history of lying, but you have chosen not to address it. As to rising crime under Khan's mayoralty, I made a point earlier about this possibly being related to lower police numbers, but you were unable to answer that either.. The £350 million a week figure was a lie and remains a lie. He lied about Porton Down. No speculation. Whatever the final outcome, Johnson said that he had been told by Porton Down that they could categorically trace the nerve agent to Russia. They couldn't and wouldn't. He lied.
In fairness, Aitkinhead may prove to be the liar, in which case my accusation toward Boris may turn out unfair. One of them is telling porkies. I doubt however that this resolution will be discovered in the main stream of crap.
Interesting to see the arguments on both sides here. The bottom line is all politicians lie, funnily enough the one word the 'honourable members' are not allowed to call each other is 'liar' yet it's their stock-in trade. How do you know they're lying? Their lips are moving. They never give a straight answer to a straight question, was it Michael Howard who was asked the same thing 14 times without answering? Question Time is the best example of talking around a subject without actually answering so my cynical view of politicians has been honed over some 50 years of watching them...
So why do we accept it? It's absurd that we do. I would guess that none of us could get away with it in our lines of work. You can't get away with driving the long way round because it's a quiet night. I can't get away with buying undersized cable to save a few pounds. Olly can't get away without playing a striker. We wouldn't last a minute if we applied their level of bullshit to our work. These people need to be held accountable for their actions. We pay for them. Parliamentary muppets, the lot of them.
You have only to look at the number of them that were caught out in the expenses scandal to ascertain the 'calibre' of our representatives, in general they are absolutely self-centred and totally ruthless, not the best traits to possess...
