With such force that Wilshere only took a second to get to his feet and shove Stephens in the back himself. Total inconsistency and shambolic officiating.
Exactly - it wasn’t just a shirt pull and a yellow card, he held onto it even after Stephens had played the ball, and ripped it. Absolutely fuming.
A shirt pull is a shirt pull, whether it lasts for a second or 5. That couldn't be punished by more than a yellow.
Never a red card, he just pushed one of our players away. Another demonstration of an official who has lost control of a game.
Wilshire had to cheat and pull Jack's shirt off of his back because he couldn't keep up with him, the fat little chain smoking ****...
A much better performance and looked really dangerous when we attacked. Like the formation especially against the top teams and away from home. Shame we lost Stephens but could use Bertrand as the LHS CB like Koeman did and bring McQueen in as LWB. The midfield looked really tight and disaplined and with JWP back our corners looked very dangerous. McCarthy mad a few great saves PEH is really putting in a shift and was my MotM
Wilshire tried to throw Jack to the ground but failed. He should have got red too then by your logic.
I agree entirely with what Hughes says in this interview: https://t.co/FswN661wUB Plenty of encouragement.
We played really well today. I just wish Hughes had been goven from Christmas on to realise who cares and is willing to fight. If we stay up it would be a miracle. Personally, I want to see big changes at boardroom level ready for next year and then make a proper go at it.
If Hughes had even been in with 15 games to go I think we would be mid table. That's what will hurt the most, knowing as us fans did, that the change may have come too late.
Yep, we played like a top ten team today certainly. Any half decent Manager would've see us safe easily this season.
i am starting to like Mark Hughes , he is clearly a far better manager than the last two we have had ! hope he stays for next season despite what league we are playing in *
I might yet be proved wrong, but I'd suggest that Carrillio is now our fourth choice striker for Hughes. And invariably, just like today, when Hughes only starts with one striker then he won't even make the bench. £19million, and our only January signing, well spent there.
Well we were much better today than we have been. Not sure how much that was down to Arsenal just coasting but give credit where it is due we were definitely better and slightly unlucky not to get a point. Stephens red card irrelevant for me. Didn’t impact the game and means he is out for next 3 games, including cup semi, which could be a blessing in disguise
