We have gang problems in north Edinburgh but the gang members are all white. They do live in poor places like Niddrie and Muirhouse which has a lot of deprivation and high unemployment but I suppose that's just a coincidence. I'm sure they only act the way they do because of watching black people on the internet.
Who mentioned murder? I was simply pointing out that the poorest areas of cities have the highest crime rates, regardless of the white or ethnic breakdown of said population. As I said several dozen posts ago Glasgow used to have a very serious gang problem and they were 99.9% white. Maybe Glaswegians are genetically inclined to be more violent than others (there may be something in that actually).
Eh? The reason Glasgow, Manchester and other cities don't have as serious gang problems as they had in the past is because people (police, politicians, community workers, local press etc.) tackled the problem. They didn't go "oh look, whiteys are causing trouble, let's blame it on the colour of their skin and do nothing about it". Nothing to do with good intentions and everything to do with tackling the problem head on.
Why do you think the feel they can't tackle it head on? Stop and search is racist so they can't do that. We have far more draconian laws here with every single cop armed yet the corduroy trousers wearing brigade aren't up in arms about it. Why? Because we're white. The spastics are saying if they were white a stop would be put to it, they're right, but not for the reasons they're spouting.
They could put a stop to it if they wanted to. They need to tackle poverty and deprivation, more police resources including more police officers, more community work etc. Will that happen? Doubtful. It isn't about racism or fear of being branded as racist. The political will isn't there to tackle it. Not properly. The political will isn't there to tackle poverty, crime etc. The mainstream parties have all but given up on the working classes, especially boys. Just look at the likes of Diane Abbot cheering on the decline of men. Do you think Labour are going to offer hope for the current generation of young, working class boys growing up in inner city areas like London? Do you think the Tories give a ****? A party who cuts back on every resource available that could tackle crime, poverty etc. The working class, especially young men, has been abandoned by mainstream politics (it's why Ukip became so popular and it's the real reason Brexit happened) . Young working class men are branded with toxic masculinity and other such vacuous terms. Is it any wonder crime, suicide etc. is so high among working class males? The terminally stupid will blame black people, or Asian people or Muslims (or insert your own prejudice here) because it's easy and requires no thought beyond "black people are criminals". The real reasons, as I'm sure you're fully aware, are a lot more complex than that.
Honestly mate I can't get past you saying it's not about not wanting to appear racist and the political will is not there. It's blatantly obvious that those are mutually exclusive. Why do the police have stop and search with fully armed police here and not in those parts of London? Why where they able to clean up Glasgow Manchester etc? There was no ******s crying about racism when the implemented the necessary measures.
