According to the Bury report, Schlupp scored his 10th goal in his last 13 games ? Who he played v I´m not sure but you´ve got to admit, it´s not bad. Goals make a FOR full of confidence... catch my drift ?
I think they included pre season aswell, but still good for his confidence which ever way you look at it. He needs to stay at LC this season & get used, some times starting & some times coming on as a sub. I think we may just have a little gem in the making here ?
in the instance, god forbid, that we dont sign a striker before the deadline, if we just play him every week, regardless of how he plays, how good do you think he could get!?
Schlupp scored 6 in 10 at Brentford. He scored 3 against Rotherham to make it 9 in 11. Then he didn't score against Reading which made it 9 in 12. THen he scored 1 against Bury to make it 10 in 13.
He's a gem ok but don't be fooled into thinking that we can just start him ever game to be a consistent world beater - He needs care and nurture to enable him to develop a fully rounded game
Hopefully we will see a lot of him this season played in his proper position through the middle. We have had strikers in the past who could have gone onto greater things but they just didn't make it one example was Julian Joachim, but there are others who have gone onto better things like Gary Lineker lets all hope he turns out as good as the latter.
This is why I say "some times from the start & some times as sub". I´m thinking v so called weaker teams start him from the beginning & give him 60 - 70 mins, if we are say 4-0 up with 25 mins to go get him on then as well, that´s if he´s not started. SGE needs to use him.
Schlupp caused Southampton problems in the first half when played through the middle but struggled in the 2nd why oh why did SGE play him on the wing. It showed against Reading he is not a winger
grumpy grandpa, i couldn't agree more, the changes sven made to formation etc, almost cost us 3 points again today, and i firmly believe even without the ref against forest, his changes would have contributed to a nervy ending. bringing gallagher on is like playing with 10 men, he cant tackle, cant head, and work rate is pretty poor, the only thing he does offer is, decent delivery on free kicks or corners, once in a blue moon, but thats about it for me im afraid. for whatever reason sven seems to like playing strikers on the wing, and dyer, cant even get in the squad, it just baffles me, don't get me wrong, im glad to beat southampton, but we were far from convincing, and to be honest i think we got a bit lucky, our 3rd goal was without doubt a foul, makes up for that sh*t penalty last wk i suppose..............
And making up for their second goal, which also had a foul in the build up. I agree with your points though 100%. He has to stop changing the flow of the team mid-match!
What about the penalty shout before the 3rd goal?! I thought decisions went both ways....let's focus on the fact we beat a very good team today and 1 point off 6th place. Sven doesn't usually make the same mistake very often. My concern is why he won't put dyer on and insist on Gallagher?!
