Everyone came through Friday's game unscathed. Leeds will be buoyed with their win on Friday against Bolton, ending a wee run of defeats. Fairly new manager, Paul Heckingbottom, will still be without Adam Forshaw and captain Liam Cooper again and is likely to treat this one with caution - playing 4-4-1-1. In fact it's more of a 4-5-1 with him trying to thwart our passing game. The subtle difference is Sam Saiz will come back in and play higher than the other 5, looking to break through the lines up front. Within the 5, a key player for them is Ronaldo Vieira who'll be given the job of marking out the former Leeds youth player deemed too small - Tom Cairney. With one game down within a hectic schedule of five within a fortnight, the main selection issue for the Gaffer is whether to save tired limbs. Jokanovic was scathing about the number of games/travelling some of ours had during the International break and in particular Mitrovic, who did seem a tad off the pace against Norwich. Norwood and Kamara must be in his musings. And of course there's still that troublesome right wing spot. A premonition sees Ojo lurking in the background ! 'Mystic Meg' aside, suspect however that apart from Sessegnon back in the starting line up, there won't be any change from Friday: ..............................Bettinelli...... ..Fredericks.......Odoi..Ream........ Targett.. .............................McDonald... ..................Cairney.........Johansen.... .....Ayite...............Mitrovic......Sessegnon..
Now with the travel bags unpacked, a wee bit of rest and training, I think you have the team just right Cottager. We were more effective with Sessegnon when he came on for Piazon too, to add further reason. Leeds will be a tough side to breakdown, so hope we get a narrow win and revenge for Kebano's goal not given last time.
Blimey yes.I'd forgotten that one, from our 'forgotten man' this season: http://www.skysports.com/football/n...kens-kebanos-goal-over-the-line-against-leeds
Last season game at the Cottage was a classic. Cairney's last minute equaliser brings a tear to my eye when I see it on video. There was a great atmosphere in the stadium that night. These next few days will be so interesting. I'm sort or resigned to play offs but can't keep my eye off the Cardiff games. Those wheels have surely got to come off ! As for tomorrow Cottager's squad looks good, not too many changes. I'm confident.
That's the one - superb. Love the celebrations afterwards. We battered them that night but until the last minute just could not score. Thanks for posting.
2 points dropped tonight by Cardiff, but should have been 3. You have to say they didn't give up and fair play but their football is dire based on what I saw tonight. All we can do is keep winning !
I'd be tempted to play Christie either in place of Fredericks or Ayite to give them a rest on the bench. Hoping he won't rest McDonald or Johansen for Norwood. Cairney has a good scoring record against Leeds and he seems to be back to his best. I'm wondering why Kebano hasn't been involved in the last few weeks. Like others I'm hoping Ojo is the player who drops out of the squad and Piazon is kept on the bench as the impact sub.
The man on show tonight is Peter Bankes. Guess the game must be on the telly since it's Bankesy. As mentioned in the v Wolves thread a little while ago, he must be the most televised referee, ever. And yep, the last time we saw him was the 2-0 win over Wolves at the end of February. The Liverpudlian was unusually conservation that night only booking 3; Targett for us. Since then Bankes has only ref'd two matches but has dished out 12 yellows cards in those games. Which is much more his style, especially when on live TV. His tally for the season in 34 games so far is : 121 yellows and a whopping 8 reds

A game of three halves. The middle one had probably the most bizarre thing I've seen at the Cottage - some guy being presented at half time with a Swedish chair he'd won and being invited onto the pitch to sit on it. Hope he wasn't getting the bus home ! On the football side of things, we were so professional first half and played some grand stuff. Really should have be further ahead than just Supernac's backside. Second half, Leeds shook it up a tad and were more lively in midfield. Their movement off the ball and interplay.had us struggling at times. The lads stuck in though and managed moments of class themselves - the cross field ball from McDonald and pluck out of the air by Sessegnon being but one. The highlight though has to be the save from Betts and the sucker punch second goal - Might even make highlight of the season !!!
Good luck to you guys in the closing weeks of the season. To my mind you are the best footballing side in the división. Reading the comment above, I hope you are not beginning to get leg weary. 9 more potential matches!!! If it is the play-off, and justice is done, then the final place will be between yourselves and Villa. I hope it is your lot. PS: I have a hunch that Ryan Sessegnon will be in Gareth Southgate´s World Cup squad.
Thanks TioM. I think you're wrong about Sess though. If Southgate was considering it, I think he would have got a call up for the recent friendliest. I'd be very happy to be wrong though.
