Planning permission hasn't gone through yet and council's plan to act as funder not been approved by whole council. I'm sure both will sail through but it does seem to be dragging on.
There are calls for debates over the council's funding. And even if that does go through they still don't know where the other £100m+ is coming from yet.
Full council meeting earlier today, Everton's loan wasn't on the agenda. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/liverpool-planning-meeting-live-updates-14485269
Like the idea of some original materials being reused in the new design. Some moaned about wooden seats being taken for Bullens for a small section.
I don’t get the seats bit, they should scrap that idea imo. The new stadium doesn’t need to be some form of Goodison pastiche nor does it have to be some faux design that mirrors the dock buildings. It should be of its time and iconic in its own right.
I would like to see reclaimed materials used to clad possibly the inner concourse in the home end. Hope Meies keeps some hints towards the original Leitch touches
I wouldn’t object to that, as that’s a nod to our history, as opposed the stadium itself being potentially held back by an obsession with it. I expect the exterior to be very similar in shape to the leaked documents that have been out there for months
It’s all down to personal opinion on the touches that nod to the past. The only thing most would agree on is a steep stand, keeping fans close to pitch
