What do you call breakfast? ......dessert?

I usually say 'time for a munch', it's universal...I can use it at anytime and in most countries.

Dinner is lunchtime, that's why they called it 'dinner time' at school

Dinner is your main meal of the day. At school that was during the day, for most of us it is in the evening. As a kid I used have a sandwich and piece of cake for tea. Wouldn't suffice now!

Does anyone still have tea at around 4.00pm, brewed in a pot, with cake or jam sandwiches?

I only really knew one family who did that when I was a kid; if I went round my mate's house after school, everyone waited til his dad got in from work, then had proper afternoon tea. Best china, tablecloth, the lot.

Think his old man had been in the army in India or something, and the family picked up the habit there. Anyway it was very ****ing civilised.

    Traditions and ritual are important.

What are you doing to keeping your family tradition going?
