Getting to the pointy end of the season and we need to keep a close eye on the opposition.

After the latest round of games we stay 6 behind wolves and 7 ahead of Fulham with a game in hand over both.

Villa slipped up against Hull today leaving us 9 ahead of them and that game in hand.

Becoming a 3 horse race for the autos.

We're at home to the blades on Monday with the other 3 of the top 4 at home on Tuesday.
Villa host Reading, Fulham host Leeds and wolves Hull who did us a favour today.

A win on Monday stokes up the pressure for the other 3 on Tuesday.

    Squeaky bum time.

Old Sparkey did something like that a few seasons ago....caught the last five minutes of the game or something....legendary thing! :emoticon-0103-cool:

Our squad is virtually injury free now. Even if Ralls was fit would he get in over Gunnarsson, Grujic & Paterson as a central midfield 3?

The bigger the opposition the harder they can fall.

    Bring them on :emoticon-0165-muscl

Millwall could hold the key to both the autos and playoffs. Just looked at their remaining fixtures <yikes>

They've still got Bristol City and Middlesbrough to get a playoff place, and also both our auto spot rivals Fulham and Villa at home at the Den. Their game against Villa is their last of the season - I wouldn't fancy having to go there and get a result to go up - glad it's not us.

The Millwall results could decide the whole shape of the top 6.

    Good observation sparks.

Though I think villa might be doing themselves in.

Just need hull to double up with a result against Fulham now.

Not sure fulham will win every game to the end of the season though. If they do we need 5 wins from 8. I've a feeling 4 will be enough.

Read somewhere that 90 points will take an auto spot - there wont be 3 teams that will amass that many.

To that extent, and unless Fulham go on a blistering run and get 18 points from a possible 21, another 11 points from the 24 available to us will do it.<ok>

    Yep. That's the 4 wins I said we'd need.

70 is usually enough for the playoffs and 90 the autos.

There could be a couple disappointed clubs with big points totals this year though.

I just hope we as fans don't get tortured with it going down to the last weekend.

    Well spotted.

Saying that, Sheffield is probably closer to my house than Cardiff.

Just been to look at the Fulham board. There's a guy over there suffering like Sparkey. He must be hearing voices. He' the only one posting!

It’s all over, wolves and Cardiff going up, Fulham 3rd, villa 4th, the other 2 places is anyone’s guess, Cardiff to win 8 in a row is outstanding, and bloody annoying

Remote - whilst the 90 for the autos is a fair bet, you'd be very lucky to get a playoff spot with just 70 points - I've read somewhere the average is about 73. Wolves missed out and finished 7th a few seasons back with 78. <yikes>

Anyone from Derby down to Preston in 10th could get to 73 points - possibly even 2 or 3 of them.

Low 70's should be enough though - good job we've got 79 already......<laugh>

Not as annoying as watching Cairney dive to win a last minute penalty at Boro or seeing Sessignon take the field v Cardiff as he always scores.

Sess has been amazing for a 17 year old,it was not cairney, it was Norwood against boro, and he stepped on his toe, we were very lucky that day

Oh ok. I read the big clubs are circling around Sessignon.

Nothing is a given, but 3 points today piles the pressure on the 3 around us.

If we don’t go up, with our history in the play offs won 0 in 6 games, then he will be off, but what a amazing season tnis has been, love it

Not a fan of the play offs, just a money making thing. If you are 3rd after 46 games you deserve to go up.

I agree, top 3 should go up. I'd much prefer to see Fulham go up than any of the others in the play off's, always liked Fulham as a club. Fingers crossed we don't let this slip now though.
