Thought Walker, Stones, Maguire looked solid tonight.

Sterling looking like a player too, for once.

No one else really impressed me.

We’re 6th favourite amongst bookies over here, because people in England back us. I very much doubt an Argentinian bookie has us 6th favourite.

Nobody had a bad game tonight. Looked like the whole team knew their role. Very inexperienced team looked better than many of their more celebrated predecessors.

Not that he had much to do, but I thought Pickford looked assured when called upon.

Just watched the ITV highlights and have to say it looked as if they played well for a change. Holland are no great shakes at the moment, but to do a number on then in their own back yard is great credit to them all.

I love this strip, with the blue shorts it is the best they have had in a long while.

English bookies don’t just reflect English betting any more, at least not on something like the World Cup. Bet365 are the biggest online bookies in the world and their World Cup odds are probably more heavily affected by China than England.

Poor crossing, pretty clueless movement upfront, tendency to stall attacking moves by negative backward passing. No one was gash but it was not a team performance to get you all excited and tingly.

A sports channel on my TV service is currently showing World Cup matches of old. This morning they had England vs. Uruguay from 2014. I watched the first half after watching a replay of last nights game. Night and day football wise. **** me we were proper **** back then, really poor side. Glenn Johnson at right back says it all, and he was one of the better players.

Some good new players have come through since then, but we're still pretty ****e. We're also going to be the least patriotic nation at the World Cup, which can't be good.

What you mean, players who 'qualify' for England?

Truth be told I haven't the foggiest who's who anymore, I'd never heard of Joe Gomez til last night.

this isn't new to me. there was an arsenal fullback who had played something like 83 games for england before i even heard of him. can't think of his name. rarely watch england games.

I don' mean to sound like I'm defending the Jocks, but Costa Rica winning isn't that surprising.

They got to the quarter finals in Brazil.

    Still funny though <laugh>

The Faroes beat Liechtenstein 3-0. It's good to see we're aiming high. Still in the top 100 though.
