I'd comment on your fans but I've never met one. Le Tuss is all that springs to mind, I assume some of you look better than him.
I think the most expensive thing I've ever bought other than car was the TV last year for about £1400. I'm not super well off or anything but I'm weak and couldn't resist Most I've ever paid for shoes was about £100 I think on some custom Adidas like 8 years ago
That's for the deck, amp and speakers. You could spend that on a deck alone though. I trust the guy who is hooking me up, he knows his stuff - reckons he'll be able to sort me a really good sound system in that price range. I'm prepared for it to be nearer the top end of that range. Buying a stereo involves re-arranging the living room as well though, so it's a mission.
Just get an Ipod and one of them Bose portable things and you're away. Don't need to re-arrange anything and will be about £500 in total.
Another plus, don't have to walk into some hipster infested ****hole to buy Vinyls at £20 a time. Just download your music for free.
Yeah, got a couple of i-pods, and the sound through a Yamaha amp and Gale speakers is pretty ****ing good I'll admit. I don't hate CDs either (unlike the old boy who owns a record shop in Brighton by the station, he ****ing despises them!), but analogue trumps digital every time. Sound is a product of natural vibration, which is what you get when you drop the needle in the record. You can reproduce that digitally, but only up to a point. Plus, it's a generation thing. I spent my youth hanging out in record shops, and when you have shelled out a slice of your wages for a slice of vinyl, it's an act of love.
I’m exaggerating, but I am pretty thrifty. I’ve been in both positions where I’ve had good salaries (40k+) and times where I’ve had very little and had to go fishing and rely on my own home grow veg to supplement my food. Even with a big salary though I never find that I had anything to show for it. I think you live to your means whatever income you’ve got. I wasn’t unhappy when I was skint, in some ways it makes you more resourceful and teaches you some good life skills about survival.
I think nowadays as well folk have wives who can make or break their lifestyle. I know a couple and their combined salary is around £50k and they look like they have a great life. My Mrs would be crying poverty if that was our combined salary.
Car £30k Phone, most i've ever spent is £30.00 & that included £10.00 credit -Nokia clam shell bought at least 10 years ago which i'm still using. Shoes £50.00 though keep them for approx 7 years on average Clothes - cheap as possible Pint - £4 Tele - £300 Haircut £9 for some reason people have said i'm tight which is absolute bollocks as shown by the above.
