Ages ago I went on a rant about women's football and posted a long thread about how terrible it is, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone link it? I wanted to update it because.... I have more reason to rant about women's football! Because Man U have announced that they're bidding for a place in the new second tier of women's football. This is the same Man U who don't even have a women's senior team, and as we all know they're going to get in, they'll go straight into the second tier just because they're Man U. It's a spit in the face to any club or player that's worked hard or dreamt of making it to the top of women's football that some club that doesn't even have a women's team can come gallivanting along and go straight into the top two divisions simply by virtue of who they are, when what have they done to grow women's football? They had no interest in a women's team before but now that there's a a route to the second tier, suddenly they're interested. Yes Man U should have a women's team, but what gives them the moral right to start in the second tier? Reason number 3052 why women's football is a joke.
I'm guessing you've posted this across a few forums but is fairly irrelevant here as Saints don't have a team? Mind you i reckon we should have a team in the second division?
Saints have a team, and Southampton have two main teams. In fact, someone here was getting quite into them. Can't remember who it was.
Saints have started investing in girls' football and already have had several call ups to age group England sides.

Well surely you can see the benefit of having one of the biggest clubs in the world associated with Women's football? It isn't really a moral issue atm, women's football has been becoming more popular in recent years but is still a minnow in the grand scheme of things and anything that helps raise the profile of it should be encouraged, if in the short term it seems unfair.
He was asked if Putin would use the World Cup in the same way as Hitler did with the 1936 Olympics. He agreed that he would use the publicity to raise his profile even more. The Russians and others have taken that to mean he is likening Putin to Hitler. Unless Johnson said anything else that seems a bit of a stretch, but does show how politicians walk through a minefield.
