Pubs have/ had massive car parks cos people used to drink n drive. That's how it was. Gardeners, massive car park used to be full of cars, bridges, lambwth etc. I used to, all my mates used to. **** me we didn't even have to wear seat belts till about 83 84 time
They are even more dangerous than standing up or setting off a smoke flare at a football match. What can better illustrate how danerous they are?
Think it was 1983. Remember the first night there were 2 cop cars, one either side of the road outside of the Avenue pub, so people had to slow down and they were looking into every car. Left mine on the car park and walked home.
Your ancestors kept slaves so I reckon you're going to get dry bummed by a load of black blokes bob. Karma
If you are including driving the next morning then I would be surprised if 90% of people haven't been guilty at some point - when I was 18-19 used to be out until 2 or 3 in Morning then off to work at 7 . Wouldn't do it now I am older and wiser ( and also because I now need 4 weeks off work to recover from a night out )
Ha. How many people after the play off final, fa cup semi and final, play off final, stayed over on the lash and drove home the next day?
To be fair, I didn't want to risk the morning after issue, so I drove straight home after last orders.
Firstly, I've never done it but that's mainly because it's always been illegal since I was able to drive. However, you are right people used to do it but Ant did it in 2018. Every person knows the consequences of what could happen. It's the same as smoking everyone knows the consequences but some idiots still do it. It's not a holier than thou attitude it's the attitude of knowing what's right and wrong.
When I was about 18, I played a golf match against a well known fish merchant in Hull who lived on Westella Road. We played at Kirkella, and for some reason the bar was closed at the club house so we went in the Wheatsheaf for a pint. He told me the week before, he had been to a function at the Willerby Manor, which at that time was the Hotel Eden. Left at 2 am pissed, drove as far as Willerby square and as stopped by the local bobby. Local Bobby knew who he was, said you look as if you have had a drop to much Mr ****, move over I'll drive you home. He said if that had been you John they would have thrown the book at you.
I think you are spot on with this. The only qualification, that I believe should be added, is that if a driver is marginally over it is very difficult for them to be aware of their state. It is easy to say just don't drive, but not very realistic. I note that no-one from the self-righteous brigade has answered my question about what his alcohol/blood level was. Whatever it was will come out, but they seem happy to say he was ****faced, his mother should have known...
Sky News @SkyNews Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have been dropped by car company Suzuki over McPartlin's drink-driving charge.
