In order of importance you need: 1 owner prepared to invest in players 2 intelligent use of funds available 3 coach who can make most of what is available First one not really, so far (net £4m) but I still think he may in summer Second one is Orta and I am highly dubious Third one is to be fair too soon to say but signs are not great
Big mistake apointing PH,why would anyone appoint a manager whose last fifteen games with his club recorded only one win?,bit like handing over money to an adictive gambler to pay your rent.
Saturday 7th April LeedsvSunderland, who could predict that one,two sides who couldn't win in a six number lottery.
I'm sorry but there isn't a coach on this planet that could turn this lot into a promotion side, yes a better coach might be able to get more out of them but this ain't a top 6 squad. Probably would refuse to work under a DOF
Thing is, look at Cardiff and Warnock and Bamba. We need a coach who knows who the missing cogs are, it doesn't mean it has to be a £5m+ signing. We need to ditch the DOF and get in a manager who has a war chest, it might be a £5m one or a £10m one but he needs to be allowed to bring in the players who he knows, ones who can perform as a team. We have a few ingredients but we're missing the main ones. The DOF might work great at the top level when you are bringing in £50m players but at this level it takes something different. Alex Neil the ex Norwich boss, he is doing wonders at Preston, he'd be my realistic target.
8 games left. 4 away to teams above us, 4 at home to teams below us. All I can see is 2 wins against Barnsley and Sunderland. QPR and Bolton will be tough.
I can see us losing to Sunderland, Barnsley a draw Bolton a draw QPR a win rest I expect us to lose. That gives us the grand total of 5 points or total of 55 points for the season.
absolute ****ing garbage. A team with no plan, no passion that dont care. we can blame ph or orta but thus mess us 100%Rads fault. he will relegate us next year if he doesn't sell up and **** off.
Don't know why but I've got a funny feeling rads may bail out on us in the not too distant future. I think he took a gamble on getting to the prem on the cheap and it isn't working. Don't think he's got the cash or desire to do it either, once again the only positive thing about this club is the fans but with every chancer that comes and goes a few more get kicked to the kerb sad times
I think we need a spend over £15m net to fix this squad. And that does not mean 15 players for £1m each that have never played in this league. My biggest problem with PH is he says he’s happy with a DOF. On Warnock, interesting he could not do it here. Its not just the coach/manager it’s the whole set up that matters
Warnock brought in Peltier and Kenny, he thought he was going to get the funds for two marquee signings. Warnock knew Bates was a crook, he knew he was here to ensure we weren’t relegated, there was no ambition at the time, just my take on it.
On a freezing snowy afternoon, probably the coldest I've felt at a game even though I had numerous layers of clothing on as I generally do, we were beaten by the worst team I've seen at ER this season Positives One of the best well worked set-piece moves I've seen from a Leeds team which should have been buried by Ekuban. Forshaw our best midfielder by a country mile Grot's first goal Happy with our goalie Negatives Beaten by one of the worst sides I've seen Errors for both goals conceded Pennington a second rate CB Ekuban couldn't hit a cow's ar*e with a banjo Choose too many wrong options all over the park Rarely shoot on goal 7 Peacock-Farrell 6 Berardi 6 Jansson 4 Pennington 5 Pearce 8 Forshaw (MOTM) 6 O'Kane 6 Alioski 5 Hernandez 5 Dallas 5 Ekuban Subs 7 Grot 6 Lassoga 5 Phillips
Watched your game on a dodgy stream - one thing that stood out especially in 2nd half was the lack of movement. This led to numerous passes either going sideways or backwards and created zero threat. Sheff Weds were woeful, but Leeds were just as bad - in fact, they defended much better than Leeds which is why they won the game!! Goalie, left back, Pennington and Ekuban are NOT ready for Championship football - O'Kane never will be!!
After you politely pointed out to Aski his mis-spelling of Saiz to him, it would be remiss of me not to tell you it is McAllister
Lack of movement/pace has been a problem all season. We must pass the ball backwards/sideways more than any other team in the championship
Of course it would be remiss of you Marcus, you're a very polite old lad full of good old British values, politeness and commitment. I can always count on you to find many things amiss with what I say.......it's what being British is, after all.
