Haven't had a drink since christmas. Have gone 4 and 7 months before without drinking, thinking I might challenge myself to go until next christmas. I really don't miss the hangovers and I feel great. Anyone else?
3 years and 9 months and counting.................. haven't touched a drop since my little lad was born. Don't miss it one little bit either!!
I never really drink to be honest. In the past decade we're talking maybe 20/30 days I've had a drink and only once or twice I've had enough to be drunk. Did it plenty in my teens and early 20's and I don't miss it. When I hear the amount my mates spend on alcohol a month it blows my mind, the ones who smoke as well spend more in total than I pay on my mortgage! I'll take boring Tel thanks.
Hardly ever drink when I am out here. Not had any alcohol since the flight from Manchester (one glass of red wine purely to ward off DVT). In early Jan. Like it when I drink it - don’t miss it when I don’t.
I've cut down from 3 nights a week to 2, sticking to this for 2 weeks then dropping down to 1. Gone from eating ****e 7 days a week to 2 (hence the 2 days drinking, 2 "cheat days" as they call it). Swim twice a week, gym once
Not bad. I've managed to get myself down to 1 cheat day, but treat myself to a diet coke during the week sometimes... FML
Was at a local Chinese Restaurant the other week which has a competition whereby you get your meal half price if you can eat all of the, i think, 20 courses they serve on their “special”. The courses aren’t their usual size portions but smaller but still a heck of a lot to eat. My good lady and myself declined the challenge but shortly after we arrived a young couple of what I would describe as “porker” size proportions came in and did take up the challenge. Nothing wrong with that you would say and I would agree save that the lady in question ordered a pint of Diet Coke to go with her meal as she was trying to lose some weight. As an aside they both had their “smart” phones (if ever there was a misnomer) religiously on and looking at them throughout their meal and generally didn’t talk to each other except to tell the other one about something on their phone. The human race will die out not because of a meteorite hitting planet Earth but because kids today are too busy looking at their phones.
This. This. And ****ing This!!!!! It is my pet hate and really brings out my inner Victor Meldrew. I loathe it. I am told it is the way the world is now and that I have to adapt. I don't want to ****ing adapt. People spend their lives looking at phones and posting on social media. You can see in so many posts that people are crying out to be noticed. There is a reason for that. Nobody ever notices them cos they never look at anyone. The world is becoming a lonelier place. We have a need to be sociable and people will never find the social interaction they need on a screen. A genuine smile is worth more than a thousand likes, and a genuine 'how are you?' and reassuring touch is worth more than a thousand follows. I think people are scared to interact now because they have got used to hiding behind a screen. You can let the world see the view of you that you choose when all you do is post. The problem with that is that it is our vulnerable sides that connect deepest with those around us. Rant over.
