Whooo spooky 999's because when I saw it come up I thought the same. They have done that before on Facebook saying that someone had died and everyone was sending RIP's only to be told he had died 3 years before.

I just read that Stephen Hawkins ashes are to be interred in Westminster Abbey. It seems a bit over the top to me!

Why OTT? He's an equal to Sir Isaac Newton and many other greats of our past, I think it's a fitting honour for a man who led such a distinguished life in the search for the answers of our Universe.

The TV personality and ex agony aunt Katie Boyle has died aged 91. I met her and her husband Sir Peter Saunders on many occasions when I was a theatre fire officer on the Mousetrap ( She and her husband owned the rights to the play. ) in the early 90's. She was a dear and lovely lady. RIP <rose>

Being an atheist should bar him from being interred in an abbey for a start plus I cant think of anything he taught me that is useful off the top of my head. I think would have enjoyed being put into a rocket and fired off towards a black hole may have been more of a wish for him. Oh and hes a staunch labour supporter ! :emoticon-0136-giggl

He was a theoretical physicist. It’s no wonder what he did was over your head, which is apparently 3 inches above the floor. Interment in Westminster Abbey is a British tradition for significant public figures, from academics to poets, it’s a reflection of his contribution to public life rather than of his religious beliefs. Although I too don’t understand much if anything of his work, he undoubtedly inspired many people to learn more about physics and equally as importantly to fight against a disability defining their life. His politics are irrelevant, and he will be lying close to Clement Attlee. I never knew that the C of E was meant to be for Tories only. Somebody should tell all these turbulent priests who are so busy criticising government social policy.

The Crafty Cockney, Eric Bristow has died of a heart attack.
Hope the reporting does not concentrate on his flawed comments surrounding the football abuse cases.

****ing hell, all these people dying who were younger than me! I'm going to the funeral next week of a good friend who died in his sleep aged 61. Seems to me that's a good way to go, but I'd like another 20 or 30 years please.

    RIP Eric.
