    I think it was an old champ man tactic of Free role and gung ho. It worked!!!

    Would like to see Sameobi start/come on as sub playing in that role behind Ba and/or Best this weekend.

    I didn't know who was playing where most of the time last night. Ba, Lover, Marv, Sammy and Vuckic all drifted all over the place. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just couldn't follow where everyone was playing, I'm sure (at least I hope) Pardew and the players knew what was going on!

    Back on topic, Onuoha would be a quality signing! Competition for Simmo on the right and cover in the centre. I know some people on here don't rate him, but as backup he's a big step up from Perch!

    But as you say everyone was roaming about all the time, especially Vuckic who was very far forward at times!

    Always thought he was a good player but remember him struggling against Gutierrez at St James last season.

    I'd take him back <ok> again...judge any of our players by the second half of the season and they would not be plying their trade in the premiership but for the first half he was quality. He has a brain, good solid defender.
