Its good news and shows that SD still has some contacts. I am of the thinking that AW wont score loads, but he does poach a few and is very willing to work. Im sure him and Scordell will strike up a partnership and cause some problems. He is also a bit of a target man for corners and free-kicks so a fair package there.
Great news,a man who runs till he drops, shame we've only got him till January at the moment. Look forward to seeing him in the line-up on Sunday. Let's hope we can extend the loan. My concern,Villa want him to sign a new extended contract, reminds me of Taylor. Still need an out and out striker.
If this is Bassini's effort at sorting out our striker woe, then I am very disappointed. Weimmann hardly set the Championship on fire when he was with us and is a loan player whose allegiances lie with another club. If this is our big signing then we should chuck the towel in now...........
I'm pretty confident this isn't the last signing this summer, especially in the striker position. They have said there are deals being worked on, but the problem is we don't know how long they will take, so it's good to get someone in now rather than waiting for a permanent player to be signed. Well done for them getting this done now rather than after the transfer window closes, and the loan window opens, when so many of these deals seem to happen!
I am wondering if maybe having AW back will free up Marv a little to have a shot rather than having to win the ball.
Not being funny but as this is running in the Striker and Short news thread can we close this one down Mods??? Seems a bit much for one item IMHO
I was simply following what was said the other day and keeping a thread for news items, i thought it might get a bit more discussion than it has and did not want to clog up the nest/news thread.
11 comments in 8 hours hardly seems like a busy topic! But hey-ho nothing to do with me, I will just crawl back under my stone!
it is being discussed in 2 other threads.... and N8tive did comment on this! I guess we can just let this drop if need be....
If anyone else says there is no need i can close it. But i was not to know it would be a quiet thread. Sometimes we have a small item of news which has 20+ posts on it and ends up clogging up the news thread which then annoys others who are there simply to read the news. I was trying to find a middle ground.
Why close it? If anyone wants to comment elsewhere they can but this is quite important news for us - I would have thought it was a fair subject for a thread I am pleased we have him back - shame it is only half a season and there is an immediate recall term - but so long as this is not a replacement for a purchase then it is good news
There is no need for sarcasm Al. I am not going to close a thread simply because there is a comment on another thread or two. If people dont comment it will drop away and it wont be there to bother you. If its still around its because people are commenting!
