Anything as long as we have a fast buildup and don't get to the edge of the area then pass back to McCarthy.
Wigan had a tough qualification and made it this far. Was it their excellence alone, being well organised or opposition not giving them enough respect....any combination of these...I don't know, but what I do know is that we will really be up for it now. Reasons....FA Cup quarter finals (enough on its own), a new manager to hopefully provide a lift (a change being as good as a rest), and a new manager to impress. I really want to progress, but I am also glad that we have a non-league game for Mark to watch and learn from.
If we don't win this I say sack the manager and get someone new in for the West Ham game who can inject some pace and directness into our play.
Is that Maya next to Gabbi? I expect Redmond and Gabbi to get game time with Sparky, seeing as he tried to sign them both.
Cook is good at organising teams, one of the reasons he got Pompey up. If he has a fault it's lack of plan B when behind. Wigan are also a decent footballing side, for L1, but very good at counter attacking. Goes without saying they, and the crowd, will be up for it but I'm actually a bit pleased this isn't at St Marys. Too much pressure.
