The only stats that matter there are heading, tackling and potential. I'm happy with those.

Looks like a good signing, we'll have to wait and see to how good though. With any luck he'll be our Hyypia.

    Skylarker.
His ability to get back and cover from the footage I've seen is fantastic, and that was from 2 years ago, he's possibly even better now.

I have a question...... did anyone watch the Copa America? He was incredible, it helps to have Lugano as your partner (ahem) but the two were like a brick wall back there. Not much got through and Coates flourished and improved on each game, a very good sign. I am really excited by this move and it will strenghten that backline for years to come.

Seen him a few times and he looks a very good, no-nonsense defender. Strong and good at tackling. Should be a good signing for you lot, I also hope it means that you will leave Godin alone now.

Now all we have to do is offer short term contracts to Lugano and Forlan!

I would sign Lugano, even though he is 29-30, he is awesome, I really really rate him and he is at Fenerbache and they are in a world of trouble right now. Forlan I would take too, but I think Italy is his destination, Inter in particular.

Well we signed Kyrgiakos at 30 for Athens, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary. Obviously I know we're highly likely not to bother with either of them, but there are far worse options out there.

What I like about Lugano is he can play the ball out when need be, he is a hard-nosed tackler, and more importantly, he is a leader. Always finds a way to get his team going and commands from the back extremely well.

If Coates has these attributes then we will be in good hands.
