I am sure I am not the only Newcastle United fan who smiled when they saw Birmingham win 3-0 against Nacional to qualify for the Europa League Group stage

Chris is a true gent and am pleased to see him with some success as he deserves a bit of recognition.

I have to admit I keep an eye on Birminghams results in the Championship and think after a slow start he will do well with Birmingham

Still like Hughton but for some reason I don't like Birmingham. Never forgive them for that FA cup humiliation a few years ago.

Not sure if we will ever know why he was sacked........couldn't have been for lack of ambition or record........as Pardew slipped in without interview on 5 year deal, no questions asked with a very mediocre record.

They've been looking pretty mediocre in the league, having to play in Europe is not what you want when trying to fight for promotion.

Was well pleased for him, just hope they can do the same in the league. Premier league and Europe is hard enough, an extra eight games on top in an ultra competitive Championship is near impossible.

Never ever liked Birmingham, the team or the city.

Still wish Chris all the best though.

They're fighting for finances currently. And it's probably easier to get to the knock-outs in the Europe League than promotion in the NPC

Good group for them think Braga will win with Birmingham and Bruge battling in out for 2nd.

Brugge have Björn Vleminckx and he's been on fire for a while so I see Braga winning and Brugge second.

I look out for their results purely for him. Would love for him to do well - he's got enough about him and a decent enough squad to get a mid table finish even with the Europa League.

From what I've read Birmingham fans are realisitic enough to realise play-offs is the best they can hope for, especially with the fact they can't spend any money. Hope someone takes over and gives CH the backing he deserves.
