That's my take as well. Pretty sure these kids need to be tested at a lower level before they get thrust into the proper physicality and pressure of the Championship. It's pretty rare for kids to make the transition without going out on loan... Rashford and Rooney are a couple who managed it, but they are a million miles away from our kids.

I think that''s about right though I think we'll be doing exceptionally well to produce new Eze, Furlong, Smyth and Manning every 12 months.

You may have a case regarding Eze who is clearly still inexperienced although he was surely worth risking back in January when we simply couldn't get anything going up front. Not so with Furlong who has been with the club a long time and, contrary to how you remember it, looked like a real prospect when first introduced into the first team (yes, he had some poor games but then who didn't in that totally dispirited team during our Premiership years?). Manning was a revelation during his first senior stint but he has been given no real opportunity since recovering from injury - understandable perhaps given the relative success of our regular trio but you can't claim to be rebuilding around youth and then not take risks now and again. At 24 Robinson doesn't even fit the youngster category anymore but it took a crazy sequence of injuries to the senior defenders before Holloway called on him and only then noticed just how accomplished he was.

    Clive's match report ...

Terry exposed on QPR’s Free and Eze night – Report

Wednesday, 14th Mar 2018 19:32 by Clive Whittingham

QPR produced their best performance and result of the season at Aston Villa on Tuesday night, beating the promotion chasers 3-1 in a rearranged fixture.

Funny how things work out sometimes isn’t it?

Queens Park Rangers were supposed to play Aston Villa last Saturday, immediately after a 5-2 rogering by Nottingham Forest with confidence low, dissent high and a general consensus that the game was only taking place to see how many goals Steve Bruce’s team could score. After the weather intervened at the eleventh hour the match was shifted back ten days, during which Rangers played very well and were unlucky to only draw at home to promotion-chasing Derby, then all but secured Championship football for next season with a home win against hapless Sunderland – four points logged, confidence restored, performance levels raised.

Don't disagree with you AAAAGH but I seem to recall that Robinson played in Holloways first game in charge last season against Norwich and was then injured again for the best part of the season......

Maybe it did take a huge injury list to the defense for Holloway to play him again but at least this time he's stayed relatively injury free and we can see the player that we all thought we were getting a few years ago......When fit him and Ned should be our first choice central defenders with Lynch as back up....

I'd hope that Holloway doesn't start tinkering too much over the next 9 games and tries to get as many points as possible as that will breed confidence to be carried into next season when maybe an upper mid table finish is realistic, whilst also giving the likes of Furlong, Eze, Manning, Oteh as much game time as possible......

QPR manager Ian Holloway told BBC Sport:
"Am I shocked? A little bit. It was, as our lads said in the dressing room a coupon buster. But, when our game here was called off the other day, we'd still made the journey and our coach broke down. We spent eight hours on the side of the motorway so maybe this was payback time.
"I had a plan and everything worked for us. We were clinical, bright and tidy. And my back lads were awesome against a good Villa side. You don't do what they did to Wolves without being a really good team.
"After losing 5-2 at home to Nottingham Forest, that seven points out of nine now. I'm really excited about this crop of lads. Take young Eze, he's only 19 and I'm so proud of a performance like that. "

Brilliant to read how the Rs got to the Scum Reject. Brings on ambivalent feelings of wanting to laugh and punch the twats lights out.
