I was fortunate to be at both.
My journey home from them took me past Brentfords ground. Brought back memories of only a few years before when the G.E. team won to come off the bottom of the whole league.

The Arsenal one was not the winning goal.

Some of the older fans might remember the first season back in Division 2 1966-67.

Two home games fairly early in the season City beat Norwich 5-0 on a Tuesday and Northampton 6-1 on the following Friday.

24,000 for the Norwich game and 29,000 for the Northampton one.

Won at home the following week too. City faded at the end of the season but those were heady days for a newly promoted club.

I remember both matches, it was my first season going to matches with school-mates and not my uncle - I have a vague memory that N'hampton went from Div 4 to Div 1 and back to Div 4 in consecutive seasons ... or something along those lines? Paper round and pocket money went a long way back then!

I went to both games. It just seemed like a continuation of the previous season.

Certainly do remember (Sept 20th & 23rd respectively) The next game was Sept 28th at home to Portsmouth (we won 2-0 before a crowd of 36,000). Hell of a total turnout for what was unusually 3 home games in a row in 8 days !I was reviewing the scores from that season yesterday because we lost 5-4 at Ipswich on Oct 22nd. The run of 7 games between Norwich & Ipswich was P7 W5 D0 L2 F25 A12.
    Entertaining football without a doubt. (Wagstaff - 11, Chilton - 5, Houghton - 3, I.Butler - 3, Henderson -3).
The Ipswich game unfortunately the start of a run of 5 losses in a row.

Yeah, just checked it on Socceebase, I thought Deano scored back to back hat tricks at some point & was on for a record 3rd, but that might have been someone else now I’ve checked that.

There was also, around that time, the 1-0 home win over Brentford. We had 9 men for most of the game too.

Think Windass scored the winner as well.

After Cousin’s goal went in I couldn’t breathe for about 2 minutes.

At the Arsenal game me and my mate were saying we might get a point here in injury time , couldn't comprehend taking all 3 even with a minute left

    In Portugal in July.

BRFC put to the sword in Albufeira, then the big one - Benfica in Faro.

Bowen announced his quality that night and thousands of Portuguese glory hunters became increasingly angry as our boys refused to buckle.

A memorable evening in the old town of Faro later that night toasting our magnificence with a selection of the finest local ports (tawny and white, not ruby).

I always admire the memory of people on here able to recollect details about matches.

I was going to post about two memorable to me.

First was at the KC in the Championship against Fulham, their keeper got injured right at the start, quickly followed by the reserve keeper. Theo Whitmore then went in for them to much amusement. We ran riot and won 5-0.

Except I wanted to be sure it was Theo (as my memory is bad) but couldn't find it. After trawling soccerbase. The match was in League 1, against Tranmere, the score was 6-1 but I did remember correctly about Theo! (the only thing I wasn't sure about).

The following game was away in Blackpool. Was near Christmas stayed over with some mates and had right old time. We won. Don't remeber the actual match or score.

we did have back to back 4-3 away wins that season, at cambridge then cardiff . 4-3 away wins are rare - this season there's been none in the prem and one each in the other three divisions. so that's 3. very unusual for one team to get two in a season and possibly unique for a team to get consecutive ones.
