If I could be arsed I'd drag up the threads on here. Loads of people were saying he was a good appointment. Plenty were in the "he's here now so I'll back him" which I think is fair enough. You were in a minority to point out his record was poor.

I agree though we should have acted far sooner in disposing of his services. I wanted him out very early, but I can admit that is because I thought he was a ****e appointment. Before the window would have been ideal, although we actually bought well in the window with Townsend and Shelvey. I seem to remember a break after the window where we had the perfect opportunity. Instead we muddled along for a few more games until the situation was ridiculous.

It comes down to money the rest of it. At the moment we don't have it. I would prefer we risked money in a more solid situation like next year. We get the TV money with the promise of more. If we buy well the players should have good value even if we did drop. I just couldn't see what is wrong with what we did this window on the budgets we are working to. We got the manager players he wanted without lumping on risk to our situation. It has been a successful strategy, yet we are still pillaring the owner and MD (or whatever his role is). It doesn't make sense to me, shouldn't we all be happy we are on a good run off the back of it?

We need Kenedy to score in the 69th second of every game.
Gayle to play like that every week - if he'd been doing that all season I'd not mind his abominable scoring record thus far.
Defenders and Keeper to be on point each week.
    5/6 more points

Stoke staring another loss in the face ..................... unsurprising, but still very satisfying all the same.

    Indeed.

West Brom are as good as down, Stoke looking nailed on also ......................... I would love to see West Ham and Agent Moyes occupying the final spot.

We're not clear of danger yet, but surely the relegation places will be filled by the clubs currently in the bottom 6. Stoke and Southampton are most likely to join WBA, but I'm hoping for West Ham and Palace.

    A miracle? :bandit:

Think 36 should be enough for teams to stay up. Stoke & WBA don't look like picking up many more points.

Saints / Huddersfield & West Ham look like could be in trouble though.

It's not often I agree with you, but I think 36 will be enough for safety this season - possibly even 35. Hopefully we can avoid a squeaky bum last day though and make sure we get the points on the board to be safe with a couple of games to go, even if the bottom teams suddenly did start picking up points (which they won't).

Its far from over. Anyone thinking we are definitely safe doesn't know the PL or Newcastle United.

There's always teams getting all sorts of unlikely wins in the run in as better sides ease off. Two more wind and a draw please!
