Could there be any truth in this? http://whatculture.com/sport/newcastle-united-eye-watfords-england-keeper-scott-loach.php They seem to think he could be cheap. Clearly they don't know about Mr. Bs overdraft.
Some actual Watford news.... Adam Thompson has gone on loan to Brentford on loan for a month. Hopefully get some first team action as must be 3rd choice right back at the moment!
Also, Gavin Mahon has gone to Notts County on a pay-as-you-play deal... for all those who were worrying he'd sign for us ;-)
I read Sam Baldock wants to come to Watford, if MKD have turned down a large offer from West Ham United I think we have a snowball's chance in hell.
I think its an interesting place to be. We want him, he wants to come to us and we might be happy to offer 500K for him, whilst thats not a lot surely its better than a player who is unhappy and not performing and wants to leave. Although i still find it very unlikely.
I suspect that Le Fondre would rather go to Sheffield Wednesday (just down the road) - Baldock would prefer a bigger club (one of the London clubs and he has to be out of our price range) - Waghorn is a winger and cost £3m not so long ago ( so not an out and out striker and probably out of our price range) - Michael Smith at Darlington is much cheaper and possibly for a reason.
Taken from the ever-so reliable source; 25 Aug 2011 18:05:55 Good source from Man U says that Macheda is going to Watford for a season long loan. Team mate Tom Cleverley has persuaded him to join the Hornets as they need a Striker badly. His loan spell last season didn't turn out well so the Championship is his destination. Furgeson has agreed the loan but with a clause for him to return immediately if needed. Just as Welbeck did well last season on loan, Macheda believes this move will prove if he's worth being in a Man U jersey in the next few years. 25 Aug 2011 06:29:29 Federico Macheda is going to Watford on loan for the whole season. The Manchester United Striker is unhappy as he is down the packing order and wants first team football. AF is keen to loan him to Watford who desperately needs a good forward. Loan to be completed after the transfer deadline. Very much wishful thinking - can't see him going to a Championship club (let alone one predicted to struggle), even if we do have a relatively good relationship with Man Utd.
I wonder if we do still have that relationship with United. All the personnel who were involved in the Cleverley and Foster deals have left.
No bid for Baldock, but we do want Weimann back; http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...aven_t_bid_for_Baldock_and_want_Weimann_back/ And talking of the transfer kitty; "It is not millions, we are not in that position, but we are trying to get certain deals over the line and it is proving very difficult". So does sound like there are deals in the pipeline, just taking a bit of time
We've had a few personnel changes over the years but have still managed to keep the good relationship with them, so hopefully that still stands. I think they look at the club rather than individuals, and the fact we constantly bring in youngsters and improve them. I also think we are an attractive club to send to - we have good training facilities, and being close to London, they can see how they react being close to that sort of lifestyle when away from the club.
Good news at last: jonmwfcJon Marks #watfordfc have signed Andi Weimann on loan from Aston Villa again until Jan to bolster their attacking options. Could be involved on Sunday
Great news about Weimann - him and Sordell upfront will be a partnership full of youthful exuberance, hard-work and technical ability. Iwelumo will be much better off coming off the bench in the 70th minute, rather than starting games. As mentioned above, we still need a permanent forward through the door - Deeney is surely classed as a midfielder now, so we still only have 3 first-team strikers.
