He scored another two goals yesterday for the u23's against Everton and both were absolute crackers.

I'm hoping to see him involved in the first team before the end of the season.

A front three of Molyneux, Maja and Asoro could be exciting to watch next season (hopefully no one nicks them off us).

That’s the trouble though , it’ll be a long time before we can keep good young uns once the big (bigger) boys take an interest

That's the way We'll need to go to get back to the big time. By developing a conveyor belt of young talent and shrewd signings from elsewhere that can regularly be sold on for profit. A la Southampton over the last 10 years.

You’re right - it’s not so bad losing good players so long as for good money which is then used to build up a squad of (at the least) decent replacements

Or never giving young talent any first team chances because of underperforming loanees and ageing has-beens, but that's what we seem to do nowadays.

A kid with no fear. Get him in. Were going down anyway so get the younguns playing together and get Catts, Kone, Oshea, Rodwell n all the others out. Give this youngun a go and see how he does in the last 9 games.

PS, bet BSA takes him to Everton knowing ES will get rid of anybody.

U23s & League 1 not much difference tho and I honestly think that's what we should be planning for. If we go down its expected if we stay up the lad has done his job.

Going from a world of kids into a world of adults at any level is tough, we'll only know once we chuck him blindly which is a huge problem with the youth infratructure in this country, which is why I never build my hopes up too much on youth players. We've been producing some cracking footballers but physically it's been a struggle for many. I think this u23 thing needs scraping and reintroducing a reserve league is the way to go so over 18s play against against adults weekly even if they're not out on loan. It will stop teams carrying lightweight players who are never going to adapt for too long and it will condition those who can adapt and cope at a much earlier stage. I'd make under 18s the main youth league with an age cut off of 20.

I'm sure that this is the way it used to be, or something very similar. It makes so much sense, I can't think of any reason why they changed it, but I feel the same way about a lot of things these days. I never thought I would be saying that, even way back, when I was your age Bri. :emoticon-0101-sadsm

With a reserve league the out of favour players can stay sharper meaning there's less risk of transfers going wrong. We could do it now but the days each of these leagues play on are on each others laps so if you play somebody in one game, they're not available for the next. All needs to change imo. Football is rotten on every level. Really starting to hate the sport. Need to get playing again to restore some faith.
