AA has to EXPECT lovren to lose that header, and even then, his man was not through, AA should have on both cases showed him outside, he didnt, for the second he was completely oblivious to Rashford

I'd take AA off now, he's shot for this game, any time he's left with Rashford he's gonna panic

 

Goal 1 - Lovren makes zero effort to get back after kowtowing to Lukaku and TAA loses Rashford completely ... both inexcusable

Goal 2 - Lovren happily becomes Lukaku's sub again in his gimp outfit and then doesn't get back again, not much TAA or anyone can do about the rest after that so that's all on Mr Softee the Croatian ice-cream man

All that is true - TAA is just not a full back. But Lovren has been butt-****ed, no mistake. truth is, VVD won all his early headers against Lukaku - since when they've targeted lovren. Been a tactical masterclass again from *****, I'm afraid. I thought United would use their full backs against TAA, and said so last night. I didn't think rashford would play , and he probably wouldn't have until Pogba got injured. same thing though - if I had United's players (and they are good), I'd target Lovren and TAA too. TAA's future is in midfield, and he'll be good: the lad strikes a ball beautifully and his crosses are exquisite. Lovren's future is to follow Skrtel, if I had my way.

 

With goal 1 you either want one or the other. If the gameplan is to let lukaku win headers but contest the 2nd ball then we need to do a much better job of competing

 

Mata hasn't even got his usual goal yet, we're ****ed.

 

We’ve been really disappointing. Pretty passing in front of them but no real penetration. The defensive hesitation from Lovren doesn’t help. He’s being bullied by Lukaku.

I think that the first goal although well struck would have been saved by the opposite goal keeper.

We’ve got to do better in the second half. We score early they could get nervous.
