Champions League Group

    Arsenal
    Olimpique de Marseille
    Olimpiacos
    Borussia Dortmund

    Very tough group, especially considering the start of our premier league season as well, however I still expect us to win it.

    Home vs Marseille - I expect us to win this match, not easily, but comfortably.
    Prediction: 2-0

    Away vs Marseille - This will be a lot harder, and I reckon we will manage a draw.
    Prediction: 1-1

    Home vs Olimpiacos - Our easiest group stage game by far. Should easily win.
    Prediction: 3-0

    Away vs Olimpiacos - Again harder than at home, but we should still win.
    Prediction: 2-1

    Home vs Dortmund - Hardest home game, and I think that we will scrape the win.
    Prediciton: 2-1

    Away vs Dortmund - Our hardest game of the group stage, so I don't think we'll win.
    Prediction: 1-2

    So, thats 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss from the 6 games. This will mean we finish first in the group with 13 points. If we manage to get those statistics I will be very happy, but as we saw from last season, it will probably be a lot tighter than this.

    Predicted final group standings:

    1. Arsenal
    2. Borussia Dortmund
    3. Olimpique de Marseille
    4. Olimpiacos

    I have also decided that I am going to name what I think is our best XI out of our current crop of players, when all are fit, just for the fun of it.

    Well, the German league is very funny. Dortmund won it last season but could be 12th or something this season. It is an interesting group. I think we're guaranteed 1st or 2nd though, there's no chance of us losing to OL and we can beat Marseille.

    how is 1 or 2nd guaranteed. Its a very hard group. yes i believe we can do well and our 14yrs in a row in this comp will help our team but no game is a guaranteed win.

    Right up until we got Dortmund I thought it was do-able. It still is but it's in no way an easy group. Now United... that, is an easy group.

    Dortmund have a potentially world class team, all of them are still young and maturing but I've seen alot of them recently, and when they are on form it's scary. Goetze runs the show for them and, like another poster said, their defence is solid.
