  1. Krul - 9.5 - 1 sloppy error but that was partly confusion between him and Saylor. Immense performance.

Simmo - 5 - Awful, some decent tackles, but left us exposed on that right side too many times.

Willo - 6 - Ok but bad that he got beat to the ball by a smaller player again for that goal.

    Colo - 9 - Pretty much solid.

Taylor - 8 - Saved us when Krul ran out. Good performance <ok>

Raylor - 8 - Cracking goal and a great LB performance again.

Gosling - 5 - Some decent tackles a couple of decent passes but overall woeful. Hope to see him improve.

Marveaux - 8 - Awesome first half, quietened down second half, but very promising. Very close to getting in the starting 11. His fitness is just a bit off, but he looks quick, nippy and makes some great passes and links up well. He's also got some decent aggression and strength in that little body of his. Very promising <ok>

    Cabaye - 8 - Good performance.

Lover - 5.5 - Some decent play, but mostly quite poor.

Ba - 5 - Didn't get involved much, didn't have many chances. Some decent runs but apart from that disappointing.

Best - 5.5 - Some good play, should have had a goal because he wasn't offside, but still quite a disappointing display from him

Sammy - 9 - Beast!! Good skill, good passing, good crossing, epic goal.

Vuckic - 7.5 - Got dispossessed a few times at stupid times, but overall a good performance.

MOTM - Got to be Krul, he kept us in the tie <ok>

I agree with most of this apart from Simmos, thought he did ok, again no support on that side at all, Lover did not track back at all. I would give Simmo a 6 and Lover a 4

Raylor was a 7, he was sloppy for a lot of the first half and the majority of the second until we took control.

Also Sammy was not a 9, once again you overrate players you like.

Raylor did not play well at lb, he gave the ball away quite a few times but otherwise I agree.

Krul - 9 - Great performance, kept us in the tie, but some of his decisions were iffy and his kicking wasn't the best.

Simmo - 5 - A 4 in the first half, terrible, picked up in second half

Willo - 6 - Solid, but you could see the difference when Taylor came on

Colo - 8 - Well played from captain, but wasn't his best

S.Taylor - 8 - Better than Willo and looked lively

R.Taylor - 7 - Slightly better than Simmo but his free-kick bumps up his rating

Gosling - 5 - Had some good touches but not a good performance overall

Cabaye - 7 - Looked good and definately wanted to get involved

Marveaux - 7.5 - Very good considering its his first game back from injury

    Loverman - 5 - Didn't contribute much and was a passenger

Ba - 5 - Apparantly on ramadan but still his perfomance not what expected

Best - 6 - Bright in the first half and should have had a goal

Sammy - 8 - Very lively, took his goal well

    Vuckic - 7.5 - Also bright, a good perfomance

MotM - Has to be Krul!

    Demba Ba was ****ing awful.

    Simpson, again, was poor!

On the bright side - Marveaux, Cabaye, Taylor, Coloccini, Krul, Best, Vuckic and Sammy impressed me

Colo was sloppy positionally - I'd give him a 6. Lova and Ba were a 3 each at best

    how wrong you are.

Sammy, a.k.a. the boss, has cranked the ratings all the way to 11

Krul - 9 - Great saves, but had one miskick that put us in trouble.

Simmo - 5 - Fairly unimaginative going forward, and occasionally got exposed at the back.

    Colloccini - 8 - Yet again didn't put a foot wrong.

Willo - N/A - Hopefully he's OK seeing as he's our only CB cover.

    S Taylor - 8 - Won every header.

R Taylor - 7.5 - Solid both attacking and defending and scored a great free-kick.

Lovenkrands - 3 - Just plain woeful. Missed his two chances, did little defensively and didn't create anything. Don't have anything against the guy, in fact I quite like him, but he is sooooo past it.

Cabaye - 7 - Tidy in possesion, made a few decisive passes and battled well. Did his job.

Gosling - 5 - Gave the ball away far too much but he seemed willing to get stuck in.

Marveaux - 6 - Looked our best bet in the first half but then faded a bit. Made a few tackles, which is always good to see. Not a bad debut by all accounts.

Vuckic - 7 - Looked very lively when he came on. Surely he's earned his place on the bench for the Fulham game?

Sammy - 8 - Brilliant goal, especially for his weak foot. Also went on a few good dribbles and battled well.

Ba - 4 - Poor first touch, poor passing, and in all honesty looked a bit disinterested. Better pick up his act.

Best - 6 - Won quite a few headers, and maybe slightly unlucky to have a goal chalked off.

Pardew - 8 - Made 2 very good subs as Vuckic and Sammy changed the game. Also he must have given them a kick up the backside at half time and it worked. He's growing on me.

Also credit to Scunny, they were up for it and also played some good football. <ok> all round.

    Krul - 9
    Simpson - 5
    Williamson - 5
    Coloccini (C) - 8
    R. Taylor - 6
    Lovenkrands - 6
    Cabaye - 8
    Gosling - 6
    Marveaux - 7
    Best - 6
    Ba - 4

    S. Taylor - 7
    Sa. Ameobi - 8
    Vuckic - 8

I wish somebody would tell Williamson to put the ball on the ****ing floor! All he does is hoof it up and not accurately at that. Raylor did okay and his goal was class, but it's still clear that he is not a left-back. Vuckic is a lot quicker than I thought, and some of Sammy's footwork was incredible. Cabaye and Marveaux really impressed me!

This i'd pretty much agree with, thought it was a lackluster performance from our lads, the only thing stopping us from thumping them big time tonight was a striker who could hit the target, desperate need of a striker or two
was really impressed with Saylor when he came on, defence looked a lot more stable when he came on, Williamson as much as i like the guy just seems to make the defence a lil panicky when he plays

I think it was just one of those typical cup games where you play worse against a poor opposition, Scunthorpe stepped up their game for us. Looking at how many chances we created we did not play terrible at all. We were caught defensively at times but that was because we were so offensive, which is expected against a lower opposition. Also i think people are being a bit harsh on Gosling, he's a good player and showed a bit of grit today, although is passing was very wayward, but i think barton is very much the same. The only real negative i can point out today was our strikers, today would of been a complete rout if we had a goalscorer imo
