So far an agreement to rebrand the club back to Hull City An agreement to consult on the badge An agreement to consult on reintroducing concessions Only ‘agreements’ though, no outcomes yet I think those agreements have come because of protests You think, it sounds to me, that those agreements have come out of the Allams deliberately encouraging supporters meetings so that they can put those things on the table as a tactic to spin things out for longer I think that the agreements are more likely to become outcomes if there are continued and sustained protests You think that the Trust shouldn’t meet the owners in any case, so the agreements discussed are irrelevant and will come to nothing (you might be right..only TWT) So I get what you don’t think should be done, unless I’ve misunderstood, but what do you actually think should be proactively done?
We’ll be called Hull City again by the end of this month, a small victory that may be, but it’s a victory all the same. Left to their own devices, there’s no way the Allams would have conceded they were wrong and reverted back to using the club’s name. Whether it’s the protests that have brought it to pass, or the supporters committee, or pressure from the Football League, or (more likely) a combination of all of them, really isn’t important.
So just more promises, a new face and nothing at all concrete. "You think, it sounds to me," I asked why there are supporters meetings because I seem to recall they is something obligatory about them and that inviting the Trust is one of the conditions of their structure; someone may have the facts to hand. I'm sure it was discussed on here. What would I do? I would encourage my thoughts in the post linked: https://www.not606.com/threads/mondays-meeting-26-02-18.358782/page-21#post-11510204 A few pages back...
No, don’t just quote one small part of the bit you highlighted. It wasn’t referring to why there’s a committee Do you think what I think you think in the part you highlighted?
If you take the trouble to open up the full quote above my comment you will see I highlighted your full comment - just trying to keep it brief before someone complains... ... I think you need to read back not just that post, but the one before, also, where I asked you if you knew why the meetings were taking place. Nothing underhand.
I'm sure it will be, but if so, so be it. The bridges are burned. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm starting to wonder if I really want to go back at all. I will, because I'm a man of my word and everyone who knows me will tell you that. But whether I'll go with any enthusiasm, I don't know. Edit: I will still toast any victory over the Allams though.
I know you highlighted my full comment I took the trouble to look before I replied You didn’t tell me whether my assumption was right or not though Was it?
Regarding what you would do You’d protest, but not do anything that would disrupt the game You support the Trust and recognise they have tough decisions to take, but you don’t think they should attend meetings with the owners. I can understand that view actually However the part that for me makes non attendance tricky is what the Trust should do if a meeting is offered to them with the suggestion that the owners are planning to do the main things the Trust is asking for, like they have now I think they’ve done right in agreeing to meet, even though I’m cynical about whether outcomes acceptable to the Trust will be achieved How do you think the Trust should respond as opposed to turning up at the meeting?
Well done to all who have protested - especially me - for their hard work. As you say, however, an 'agreement to consult' is like 'approval to discuss'. In other words, putting off the inevitable for the sake of saving face. It just makes them look like even bigger ****s. Get talking, Ehab!
Evington, I was with you up to the last two words, but don't tar us all with the same brush, we're not all southern softies! Our South Stand group, 6 of us, do our best to raise the SS noise level, join in with the Allam out chants, admittedly to the annoyance of some in nearby seats! Some did even take part in the "ball" protest from SS. #therebelliousSouthStanders.
Yeah I’ll hold my hand up and say I mighta been a tadge snarky about that. With hindsight it was a good idea. Now **** off.
#AskEhab campaign was one of the best things to be done. Publicity, publicly asking questions and putting him on the spot. He would have disliked that so much when all they crave is positive publicity and a positive image I would go as far as to say that should be kept in reserve for a comeback if things don't go to plan.
