I don’t think they like protests, I think they find them embarrassing, and an unwelcome reminder of the fact that they can’t control a group of people I think we’ve seen that consistently. Every time there is a meaningful protest they react in some way, from moving whole swathes of fans off camera, spreading sale rumours to coming round the table to talk That doesn’t mean I think these current talks will resolve things, we’ll have to wait to see whether they do I don’t agree with you suggesting that coningbtp the table is about stringing things along and taking the money. I agree that’s what they’re doing, but they could simply remain quiet and do the same Discussions have always followed protests. I accept that doesn’t prove a causal link, but it certainly suggests it when they could do what we both think they’re doing without doing anything proactively
Ehab Allam mentions 'respecting the process' many times, it's clearly a way to win time and to stop things from boiling over until they sell. They will do the minimum and no more. They will only deal with the least militant supporters and when you mention respecting the PL's pricing & concessions policy it's just that - they would have to! This club has missed so many opportunities, right now we could have a full stadium with fair and balanced pricing - do they not see that a full singing, happy stadium would create the vibrant supportive atmosphere that thee team could thrive off. Charging kids adult prices is abhorent and against the spirit of the game and more importantly we are missing out on breeding a new generation of fans.
A key point there, it may not make them go any quicker or change anything but if it pisses them off and brings a bit of joy to those protesting good.
I like a good protest anyway It’s good for the soul If they don’t start again then I might organise people to throw whistles onto the pitch to protest at the lack of protests
Bang on. A lot of people mocked the #AskEhab campaign and billboard, but it had Ehab absolutely spitting feathers, they hate being mocked or shown up.
Yeah I forgot the #AskEhab thing That was exactly the type of thing they hate so well played to the organisers
I think you have to look at it from the Allams eyes, they feel like they have saved us and we have spat in their faces, with not agreeing with things they are doing. They will never admit they are wrong in any sense or fashion, thats the sort of people they are. Like its been said the whole sit round the table thing was to do with the Queens visit, that pacified everyone, then he spun us along. They are winding down, so when they have taken the final money out the club is worthless but debt free, they will sell and they have the money back and a bit more.
Agreed. I also think the influence of the FA and the EFL shouldn’t be underestimated. They hate to see protests associated with their “product” and will be quietly bollocking the Allams in the background.
Yes, it's a leap of faith that may entail accepting imperfection, even though we are perfect... Geoff and his colleagues have a difficult task dealing with the Allams and I both support and appreciate their efforts. I would prefer them not to attend meetings, but they have been elected to make the hard decisions - disagreeing with them, in a reasonable way, on this anonymous forum really shouldn't be a problem for them or anyone else, but unfortunately it appears to be for the someone else. I only speak for myself, not everyone. I think the Trust is in good hands and I hope the elections go well for those that wish to stay in post.
Yeah people seem determined to create a problem to be solved when it comes to the badge. People just don't like the current one. Change it to the previous one; job done. Remove AFC if that's really non-negotiable (it's still important but if that compromise gets us everything else back I'd take it). Apart from anything else, the fact that Ehab came out and said it wasn't the protests, but the reaction of the majority of fans to the protests, that brought him to the table, pretty much confirms it was the protests. A classic Ehab whimper.
What I'm saying is that it is their tactic to mute the Trust who are their biggest problem - the rest don't matter, as folk on here keep pointing out. Keeping quiet and not engaging with the Trust is not inline with their needs.
Another term for this is retaliatory vindictiveness, something we know they employ in their dealings with those who upset them. Tell me, Dennis, what has come out of all of these meetings? Edit: Why is there a Supporters Committee at all?
I agree with that, but it is different to the current situation and how they are manipulating the protests and meetings.
