They went into that game with very cautious instructions not to get injured and wear the owls down and that is exactly what they done......It was not a pretty game to watch but it was enough to win the game....So job done at the end of the day....

Boring game but, like the Wolves match, we didn't really need to do much more.
Moving into 2nd gear was good enough for the win.
A few players were shockingly lackadaisical tbh and managed to make other look bad - Carroll, Clucas and to a lesser extent Ki looked like their main objective was not to get injured.
I note Routledge and Dyer were getting a hammering from certain quarters yet were by no means the worst - at least they were trying to get things going.
Nordfeldt - best game by a mile and his distribution was good.
Roberts - decent in parts but given lot of leeway by supporters. Not ready for PL and well below Ben Davies standard when he came. into the side.
    M v d Hoorn - my MoM
Fernandez - did enough and was never uncomfortable.
Bartley - went through the motions but was always comfortable.
Clucas - what was his position? Whatever it was he didn't seem to be there
Routledge - tried to make an impact but lack of game time, age and Carroll with Clucas didn't help.
Ki - didn't seem interested and another who suffered from being alongside Carroll and Clucas.
Dyer - looked good when linking with Routledge but lack of cohesion within the team didn't help. Also no one acted as a target when he did get free.
Carroll - did OK in parts of the second half but how many times can a player give the ball away in game?
Tammy - enigma. Loads of skill but needs to know when to do the simple well rather than flicks and inks. Also, last night, overran passes.
Aye - upped the effort but didn't need to go beyond second gear.
Olsson - didn't achieve much but was a presence.

    Good win.

Nords was my MOM for the two cracking saves he made in succession. We never really got out of first gear and bringing on J Ayew was a master stroke. Dyer was superb and the team played the game in the right way even though it was not pretty....

It could have been worse with a Sat night televised slot.
It was absolutely freezing down there Tue night, and not much to warm us up on the pitch. Ayew transformed the game and was full of energy, Nordfeldt had his best game for us, Tammy great through ball for Ayew goal, Dyer took his goal well and his shot went through the goalkeepers legs. No injuries and through to the next round. Well done to the SWed fans who travelled down, made plenty of noise.

Good post there!! Never been so cold at a football match, absolutely awful game too. Possibly the only Swans match, ever, that I couldn't wait for the 90mins to be up, whilst still in the first half..

I trust the Club will still carry on with this season's FA Cup tradition of only opening the East & West stands for the Quarter final...

I'm a type 1 diabetic and my normal blood testing and injection time is 1230-1300 so not so straight forward for me. Of course TV companies don't give a toss about that sort of thing.
