The merchandising shop sold a lot of those those red "bubble" winter coats due to the weather this week.
City are an incredible team, they simply put us to the sword with ease. Wenger is a dead man walking, but he won't walk and the board haven't got the stones to sack him. So he'll be there until the summer at least.
Have to admit this City team are playing football on a different level to anyone else. The only way to play against them for the other PL sides is to park the bus and counter, trying to have a go against them is never going to work. I think it's going to be facinating when they come up against the Reals, Bayerns and Barca's in the CL this season. I do think Real Madrid are the side id want to avoid if I was a City fan, as I think they are the one team who are well equipped to beat them. Bayern to a lesser extent to.
You did park the bus and counter for long parts of that game, as your 36% possession proves. I'm not criticising you for playing that way, as there is nothing wrong with playing that way. I think it was also kind of forced upon you more than anything as City are just so good on the ball, that even without realising it you can fall back into a defensive system. You guys might be able to get a result against City at Anfield, if things go your way, but over 2 legs I don't think you have a chance. On this seasons league games they've beaten you 8-4 on aggregate. The funny thing is us United supporters if we get through will be hoping to draw you guys in the QF, and you lot will probably be hoping you get us. As if either of us draw one of the big guns were gonna be out.
I'm not buying that to be honest, you can't say they didn't play on the counter, and defend with numbers behind the ball for large parts of the match.
I wouldn't say they parked the bus though which was your claim. I actually think you have to have a go at them a bit tbh, if you show no ambition then they will just wear you down and find a way through eventually. You have to have the forward players to do it of course which Liverpool do.
Your bias knows no bounds Shergar, we attacked them from the off, if anything they caught us on the counter for two of their goals. But what you're now advocating is what Mourinho has been getting slated for, parking buses is anti-football and boring as ****, but what ever rocks your boat mate.
I agree Liverpool do have the forward players to cause them trouble, and the front 3 did choose their moments to have a go, but the large majority of that game was City trying to pass through a wall of Liverpool players. Not saying there is anything wrong with that, just that's how i seen the game.
Who am I being biased to, Man City? I don't particularly like either of you, I'm just saying it how I read the game. Clearly you can't accept any opinion that isn't hailing Liverpools current side as the 2nd coming of the galactico's. That is my opinion of the game though I'm not advocating parking the bus, and it's not the way I want to watch my team play regularly, but in a one off game against a supreme side like City are at the moment, I wouldn't have a problem with setting up to stop them. The problem I have with Mourinho is he uses it all the time.
