That is Winks to a tee.

It was impressive to begin with by "holding his own" but it comes to a point where you have to start expecting more and there's literally zero difference from the Winks now to the Winks that broke through last season, in fact, he's gotten worse as he never lost possession like he has in recent games.

It suggests a fear of failure.
The square ball is an easy, safe option. Keep possession, don't take risks. Your pass completion stats look great.
But if you play in midfield for a top side, you need to create. You need to spot and pick out players making runs and threaten the opposition. You need to carry the ball forward yourself too.
Perhaps he needs to be played further forward and encouraged to take risks.

Sons penalty was a strange decision, by the letter of the law he did nothing wrong, “Feinting in the run-up to take a penalty kick to confuse opponents is permitted as part of football. However, feinting to kick the ball once the player has completed his run-up is considered an infringement of Law 14 and an act of unsporting behaviour for which the player must be cautioned.” I thought Son stopped half way through his run up, it seems the referee and VAR don`t know the rules.

How did that get disallowed?! <laugh> McGahey commits the first foul, so it's either a goal or a penalty.
Do they say who the VAR pillock is or is it kept under wraps, like their appeal panels?

Nope, he stopped just before kicking it, in fact he stopped for so long 3 of your players nearly ran passed him so it would have been a re-take at best not a goal. As it was, it was classed as unsporting behaviour which is why he was booked.

Nope, two thirds into his run up to be precise, he had another stride before kicking the ball. That`s not feigning to kick the ball, you can only feign to kick the ball when stood next to it, he stopped his run up and according to the law, that is perfectly legal.

And what does the law say about the men running past him?

So if we actually give Llorente a bit of service and cross the ball a bit, then he'll score? Who knew?

I must admit, I had a good laugh when I saw him walking up and reaching for the spray. Just why?

    Cold? Stone me, Mrs.

What a bizarre ****ing night. That referee looked, to me, as though he'd never seen a game of football before, let alone refereed one.

I couldn't understand WTF was going on in the first half. I couldn't see the bloody ball in the second half [I'm colour blind].

I'm in favour of VAR but it's hard to see this as a system that I or any sane person, envisaged. You can't celebrate a goal as it probably isn't one, even though it turns out that it actually is.<doh> Whatever they do to the thing, it has to understandable to us, the poor schmucks in the stadium. If it isn't, then it can **** off. No matter if it's the right decision, if it kills the beauty and excitement of the game.

Sonny was always going to **** up that penalty. As soon as it was given, I told my daughter..."We'll be missing this."

Rose was absolute garbage and looks like he's towing 2 caravans. Foyth isn't ready for first team football. Winksy's gone backwards, etc. ......................but............Llorente's a goal scoring machine. I saw him score a hat-trick [sort of] with my own eyes and I still don't believe it. COYS.

If I had to pick a single word to sum up that game then it would have to be farcical.
The weather, the decisions, the VAR and Llorente scoring a perfect hat-trick. Ludicrous stuff.

VAR can work...it's the refs that are clueless and are making a Pigs ear of it. Tonight's ref was a lazy bastard, it was like he couldn't be bothered to think
