Mark Mason: This ref is a joke. Read rules. Player allowed to feint in run up. Ball went into net, should be a retake at least. Must be an Arsenal fanny I reckon (Tweet to BBC Football Live) "Arsenal fanny!" Anyone else reckon this is meant to have read "fan" and that the bloke who typed it made a Freudian slip? He's right, though, I bet.
Referee was spot on with the penalty. You can't stop in the run up. That's been known for ages. Penalty shouldn't have been given. It was a very soft foul that happened outside the box. Trippier swan diving into the box makes no difference.
^^^^^^^^^^^ Rattled because his team has conceded 3 times to ****ing Rochdale in 135 minutes of footie
Those two were spot on. Hate VAR, but they got it right. The first goal ruled out was debatable, but you can see why it was chalked off.
It's a ****ing farce mate, it simply can't be taking that long. I'm againsr VAR anyway but I've always said that if it's to be used then it should only be for clear and obvious errors. I'm sorry but if it's taking 3 minutes then it's not an obvious error. I also don't like the idea of reviewing every single goal cos it will simply take all the emotion out of the game. It's ludicrous, someone on our board said it's the future. Well to be frank if VAR is the future then my future lies in non league sadly.
Actually, I think the decisions have been correctly given, and I'm glad that we won't get accused of turning over a League 1 side with the "help of the ref." Will you give me a like for say that, Pix? No, thought not.
Agreed. If it can’t be overturned in 20 seconds just stick with the original decision and get on with it. Spurs fans won’t be tucking into their bagels until midnight at this rate.
It amazes me how long they take to make a decision. The replays we get on the TV allow us to make a judgement in less than 3 seconds, how on earth it takes a supposed professional 2-3 minutes is just farcical.
That's the thing that makes it so annoying. It's bad enough seeing that on the TV with replays and commentary. Can't imagine what it must be like at the ground not knowing what the **** is going on.
There's no way it should have been a penalty. If you're pushed outside the box but fall into it, it's a freekick. No matter how far Trippier jumped, the foul is at the point of contact. That was a couple of yards outside the box.
Looks like the powers that be want us out so that they can talk about the magic of the Cup Stupid ****s
The first decision was a joke. The penalty was correct, as was the decision to deny the goal. I’m just wondering why it takes them minutes to decide and then still get it wrong.
The contact started out of the box but the foul was inside....this is a contact sport...stick to Ballet young 'un
