Worst we’ve had for a while, but it’s sod all compared to the daily falls and long weeks of winter weather we had in the 60’s and 70’s. Didn’t we just “get on with it” in those days ?
From what I've seen mostly people just get on with it nowadays to be fair. Yes they whinge and complain about it but that is pretty much a national past-time. The press have always made a bit of a meal of it, it's just that news is all-encompassing opinion pieces now so it feels like more of an issue.
A bit of snow heralds a feeding frenzy on the media, Mooney will be getting measured for a new suit as we speak.
Used to love going to school in the snow, but there was not as much traffic about, so this may be a consideration to-day.
On the upside - how nice to see a tidy (seemingly) litter free environment instead of seeing the rubbish tip I normally live amongst.
Maybe , but at least he’s made it equal for all and given the south some of what we have had to cope with for eons .
Leeds is a disaster! I’ve been sent home from work (due to injury I have to use public transport) and everything is delayed. We are a piss biscuit nation when it comes to snow
We are piss at helping each other. No way is my car escaping from the back streets here ( assuming main road is drivesble). When I first started driving in the 70,s these streets would be a hive of activity on a day like this ,loads out with shovels clearing a way for the benefit of all. But these days , no one knows their neighbours , and no one is willing to help each other
I'm having to work from home today. The roads out of the village are just too treacherous! I hate working from home!!!
