    Sympathy to you there
I was told Monday by my company that the weather was so extreme that I shouldn’t expect any of my clients in.
Email has been dead all day
Business seems to be going the same way as the schools
I used to walk to my school 6 miles each way everyday throughout the day. I would often be passed by my grandfather who would toot in his pig truck. Neither of us crossed our minds about a lift ... we walked
40 years on and the weather forecasts seem to stop everything

Was shown an interesting article essentially demonstrating that there’s an incentive for train operators to cancel services. This country is just very **** at certain things.

After several days of severe weather warnings and what seemed to be a promise of some sort of Armageddon down the east of the country all we've seen in London has been a few flurries. Once again the Met Office get it wrong in large parts and local authorities and transport knee-jerk to make things even worse. My wife had an important hospital appointment this morning but the overground service from West Croydon wasn't running as were many other sections of that service. F*cking useless bastards...

Greater Anglia seem to have cancelled a lot of services today and tomorrow. Not sure how or why this is worse than any other light snow covering.

Numerous snow flurries here in Leicester through the afternoon today with about an inch or so of snow ... then travelled 3 miles to hotel and barely any snow!! Just hoping for some relatively decent conditions for the drive back home to Poole tomorrow evening!!!

Back from warm weather in Tenerife last night to blizzard at Gatwick & driving was dodgy, few flurries in Shirley/West Wickham today & settled, country comes to a standstill when snow arrives.

It's been over hyped for sure in the news.

It's just very cold with some snow flurries in random parts of the UK so far. I do feel sorry for the homeless during these really cold snaps mind.

Both my company (Ascot, I very rarely go there) and my daughters school (Warwick) sent messages today - bit of snow but all fine open for business. On a call with Canadians this afternoon, they offered to send emergency supplies.

    It’s not the one thing
    It’s the dismal tide

It can’t just me getting old but I concede change affects generations.
Fear, drama and anxiety seem to all be the kings of current culture ... even this is a drama. Where is it coming from?

Certainly I first noticed it watching neighbours as a youth when the tone of voice changed at the end of lines to raise or heighten the dramatic message.

Couple that with the performance of the character in Casualty called I think Charlie ?

    The Lottery results on TV

    Evolution my ass

The current state of our train service and many other things is the direct fault of Kylie, Charlie and the BBC voice over man who gave life to balls with numbers on them.

Don’t travel tomorrow the risks are enormous

    What is common sense ?

Good stuff but why did they feel they need to send messages ... there is the root of the monkey.

expecting blizzards later today. At the moment all is still, overnight frost, with a dusting of snow. The sky hasn't a cloud in sight with the sun out. Bloody cold mind you

Is that why the news has said problems in both France and Italy and my French friend has said the same? You need to get real fella, snow disrupts.

Packed up at 6.30 after two jobs this morning, some side roads virtually impassable and when I got stuck on a hill in Battersea I thought 'I must be mad being out in this'. Saw several cars sliding at fairly low speeds on main roads, so dangerous no matter how good a driver you are. At these temperatures it won't thaw easily and more snow later on top of icy slush will be lethal. If you don't have to drive then don't...
